Rating: Summary: Great book for a beginners Review: I bought this book couple of months ago, and I finished now. Absolutely is a great book for someone doesn't have programming background. And I suggest to get object oriented programming using C++ second edition by this author.
Rating: Summary: Basics of programming Review: I purchased this book as a requirement for my introductory programming course and it provided me with an excellent basis for the structures of programming. It is a great book for beginning programmers to keep and refer back to from time to time. It is pretty basic for anyone other than a beginner though.
Rating: Summary: Keep Trying Review: This book was given to us by our instructor for our OOP class at our college and it is terribly laid out. The concepts are not very well explained at all and the book is written with the assumption that you are proficient in C++ already. Before purchasing this book please take a peak at the work Diane Zak has done with any of her books. Ms. Zak at least takes the time to break down concepts of OOP into simpler terms and tell the reader why it is the way it is in C++. Sorry but Joyce Farrell's book has a lot to be desired and I've got 15 out of fellow classmates who agree.
Rating: Summary: The best introduction book Review: This could be the most comprehensive book which introduces the readers to programming logic and design. It should be the first choice of beginners learning logic and design, and a reference for the pro.
