Summary: THE Best Book
Review: After my success in the exam, I can confidently recommend Prof SCWCD Cert to be the best book. The closeness of the classification of chapters and mock exams questions (both in the book and the whizlabs test sim in the cd) makes it a MUST to have publication.Atleast 20-30% of my score in the exam (i.e. 96%) is attributed to this book by Sam. I also used Professional JSP. I hope to see SCEA book by Wrox in the near future.

Review: Although I had to buy this book in $s, I got complete satisfaction looking at the value addition to my preparation and the outcome of the exam for me. The book provides very concise and classifed information required for the exam and the very nature of the book to "explain concept with the aid of examples" makes it a VERY useful resource. Also the Whiz mock test in the CD was of tremendous help. Case study, the uqnique feature of the book also makes it a better book. I am moving now towards my next Java certification and I wish Wrox had a book for the same. Good luck to others

I appreciate the adequacy in breadth and the depth of this book and the case-study is a definite USP for this book. Summary: Covers every topic
Review: I am working in JSPs and servlet from last 2 years now.Last month I decided to appear for SCWCD exam. I thought I know allmost all I need to know for this exam. But after reading this book I realize I was missing lots of small small things which are very important for the certification exam. I think this book covers every topic of certification thoroughly.The model test povided with this book is also good, although I had to buy the full version from Whizlabs for more practice tests.

Summary: Just take it!...
Review: I had just completed SCJP with 78% and wanted to go for SCWCD ASAP! thought who else to trust than a name like wrox? I simply read few reviews about it and bought the book. It really exceeded all my expectations!... SCWCD became just a cakewalk for me! It covered all the objectives in just the adequate depth. Also gave me a mock exam CD to practice with! Wow man! that was fundoo! And it is precise, just the right things no extra work to be done. I just read it twice and practiced with the CD given along with it. I later bought SCWCD@Whiz full version also. I felt veri confident once I used both and straightway took the plunge! I scored 94%! I couldn't have asked for more. I felt the exam was a little easier than I imagined. I don't think you would need anything else once you take it. Just don't waste time! All the best!

Review: I like the layout of this book - the chapters follow Sun's outline for the exam topics. I found the book to be surprisingly well written / edited - very few of the all too common typos and wrong answers that pass muster in many geek books.

Summary: Great prep for the certification exam
Review: I used this book both as a crash-course introduction to the technology as well as to prepare for the certification exam. It is an excellent study guide and stays focused on the explicit exam objectives. Each topic is concisely explained, and the quizes and mock exam closely match the official test.

Summary: Great book backed by good simulation tests
Review: I will be honest here. This is not the first book i purchased while preparing for my scwcd exam but it turned out to be the most useful one. I also bought another book publised by SUN but things in wrox's book were more focused towards getting a higher score and tricky questions about fundamentals than its counterparts which i think gave me that extra bit of confidence. To top it all was the simulation test which i considered a bit tough compared to the real test. The simulation test serves tougher question ( but that could be just my own impression too ) than the real test but it gives you a realistic score since the scores at home settings are generally higher than what one scores under test settings ( test pressure etc play their part in bringing down the score ) so i feel that preparing for the exam with tough questions only improved my chances. My 5 stars for this guide

Summary: Good book but could have been better
Review: My friend bought SCWCD Exam study kit from manning and I bought this one. I liked the book overall but one thing that I expected was more number of test in their exam simulator. I thought it has 3 tests (I don't know where I got that one, may be because SCWCD exam study kit has 3) but it has only 1. They should state that clearly someplace. The notes at the end of each chapter are not as thorough as the manning book. The writing style is good and the information content is good too. You need to have some exposure to JSP/Servlets to follow the book, though. Overall, it is definitely buyable.
