Summary: Market Makers beware, the playing field has been leveled!
Review: After reading this book my understanding of why things happen in the market has grown exponentially! My time horizon for holding positions has gone from months to minutes and I feel I have a much better chance of competing with the big guys. I've learned how to avoid paying the spread by learning when and how to buy on the bid and sell on the offer. I can now anticipate movements in the market and take advantage of these movements. By utilizing Nasdaq's SOES system I can hit and run with incredible speed! My profits have gone from 20-30% a year to over 5-15% A MONTH! Friefertig and West have definately leveled the playing field and have given the individual investor a fighting chance. Trading for me will never be the same.

Summary: EDT puts you on a level playing field with the professionals
Review: Day Trading has taken the financial markets by storm. Computerized trading has marked a new era on Wall Street. Now, you no longer have to call a retail broker to buy and sell stocks. Modern technology has made it possible for individual investors to trade from almost anywhere.

For most of history, professionals on Wall Street have been able to make fortunes. Now, for the first time ever, today's dynamic environment is revolutionizing trading, allowing instantaneous access to information, instantaneous executions, and a low cost to do business. All of these factors have created an opportunity for the individual, by putting them on a level playing field with the professional.

This has lead to a great demand for more specific electronic day trading information to further educate individuals about this rapidly expanding field. The Electronic Day Trader by Marc Friedfertig and George West, is one of the most informative books on Wall Street. The book provides an in-depth analysis of market dynamics, which include:

1)The Evolution of Electronic Day Trading. 2)How today's technology allows the individual to interpret the market and trade like a professional. 3)An in-depth look at the market makers and the specialist, and their actions during the trading day. 4)The necessary discipline and psychology needed to develop the skills of a successful trader. 5)How to choose the best on-line system.

Electronic Day Trader is an essential tool for both, the novice and the professional. The book will prove to be a resource you can go back to again and again. The opportunity is here, let the Electronic Day Trader be your guide in making consistent top dollar returns! marc@daytrading.co

Summary: Cyber trade like the pros in today's volatile markets.
Review: When I first came to Wall St., I knew nothing. In an attempt to educate myself, I read every market and trading book that I could get my hands on. While many of the reoccurring themes in these books have helped me to form a sound fundamental trading strategy, I was constantly left with the feeling that I was missing something. I realized the importance of strategies such as "cut your losses and hold your winners," but there had to be more to profitable trading than that. I feverishly searched for something, anything, which would enlighten me and show me the tricks that the pros were using to reap fortunes.

The first thing I wanted to know was why the professional trader seemed to always know more than the individual. As I began to trade and eventually gained exposure to both the NYSE and NASDAQ, I started to learn more and more about what was going on behind the scenes. As a professional on the floor of the American Stock Exchange, and later a trader on a block desk, I learned how a specialist would open a stock where he could make the most money, how an institution handled a large order, why stocks would move for no apparent reason and much, much more. Every time I learned something new I thought, "If only I had known that before, I would have made a ton!!!"

The Electronic Day Trader is the answer to Pandora's Box, for the individual investor. It provides the answers to those behind the scenes events which have such a great effect on our markets during the day. In addition, it provides the reader with the basic skills and rules which are the foundation of success for many of today's top traders. If I had this book when I began trading, I would have been light years ahead in my learning curve (and have more money too!!)

Find out how to unlock the potential in the markets like the pros do, using the same cutting edge technology, blazing execution speed and low cost commissions. Now you, the individual investor, can be on a level playing field with the industry's best and profit from one of the greatest times in history to day trade.

Sincerely,

George West

Summary: Another book with old strategies, however....
Review: There are some good ideas that you can rescue from this book. Therefore I think you should buy it since you can make much more money and certainly recoup your small investment if you employ 2 o 3 good tips.

Any way, from my point of view a trader must always read as much as he can. There is simply no other way to prepare one self for this difficult yet incredibly rewarding activity, but to learn and put into practice as much ideas as you can, at least by paper trading first.

The are a lot of books on the subject, however many of them where written 2 o 4 years ago and that kind of makes them obsolete in this constantly changing field.

The internet offers great places where you can learn more specialized trading techniques. One of those places that I have found to be worthy is ProfitableStockmarket dotcom.

They focus mainly on momentum trading and employ a rather simple yet effective strategy. I think that for a trader to survive and be profitable, its neccessary to keep their trading as simple as possible. To much confussion and technical indicators will most of the time make you slow in your decisions and froze you up when a good opportunity is right in front of you.

In the end it's all about buying or selling with out hesitation, and doing it over an over again according to your set ups.

Summary: Obsolete
Review: This book completely fails to realistically convey the relative risks and profit potential for the average wannabe day trader. Im talking about someone with less than a few thousand to play the market. Unless you have big bucks and Level II quotes forget day trading unless you are very lucky. In the trading parlance, I wish I had a short position on this book at its current price, and could cover my short at the current used price! Save your money.
