Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Easy to understand~! Great Book
Review: I have read serveral books on the PicMCU and this is by far the best one I had read. The other ones by Myke Predko are very confusing and are very repetitive whereas this book is straight to the point and it really gives reader a very clear understanding of the basics.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Negitive examples, complicated.
Review: Mr. Morton constantly begins discussions by informing the reader of how difficult the topic will be. This is a foreshadowing of the authors lack of understanding/ability to communicate the topics. Another short comming of the text is the authors insistance on deferring key concepts until 'later', which leaves the reader with missing pieces of the puzzle.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent Starting Point
Review: This book is excellent for what it wants to be. It gets you rolling and conversant with the basics. With that in mind, it doesn't include serial communications, which you would probably want to ease into after having the basics down. I used this book after already working with the intel 8051, and wish that my intro to micros had been this painless.

Summary: An excellent introduction to PIC.
Review: This book proved to be a great help when writing my own programs as it is written in a friendly style. There are also a number of programs at the back of the book which are an excellent source of reference. The PIC commands are all explained well and the text leads you through each program step by step. Well worth having on your bookshelf.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Clear, concise, easy to understand.
Review: This book was extremely helpful and gave a full insight into the world of PIC. The book is well written and has helped me write my first PIC programs!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Overall poor grammer/writing style.
Review: This was the first PIC book I have purchased. The grammer and writing style leave a lot to be desired. Furthermore, there are technical errors and contradictions. If your looking for a book to circumnavigate the data sheets... this isn't a good choice, for beginners or pros.
