Rating: Summary: A must read book if you are interested in a business online. Review: Just used this book as a textbook. A must read for anyone interested in a business online. Book should be included in corporate libraries. Technology is here now.
Rating: Summary: STRUCTURE A CLASS BASED ON THIS BOOK Review: After reading this book by the insightful Evan I. Schwartz I must say that never before have I been so ambitious to give a report in economics about this book. I think there is a lot of information to be learnt from this book. I'm in the process of trying to get my university to develope a class teaching these principles.
Rating: Summary: Definitely the Book of the Year - Looking forward to Book 2 Review: I actually read it twice and taking down notes. The book brought us through the early development of the Internet, analyzes the various business models and was able to sum up the crux of what works and what doesn't. VCs, CEOs and just about everyone else should read this book.
Rating: Summary: An easy reading book Review: This is a easy to read book. The author gave quite a number of website in his examples. Therefore while reading the book, you can actually surf to the sites mentioned to see what the author has mentioned. i would recommended this book to anyone who intends to put up an online store.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book for Internet/Electronic Commerce Courses Review: I reviewed this book for the academic communication journal CONVERGENCE. I recommend this book for anyone who teaches a class that includes a significant discussion about electronic commerce and the web. I've been studying the web since the birth of Mosaic and came to this book very skeptically. I was pleasantly surprised. I learned a great deal from reading it. Schwartz includes some references to some inside information from the industry about which my students and I often could only speculate. Perhaps the most important comment I can make about this book is that it is critical in nature. It is not a cheer leading book for the web, but rather a nice snapshot of what is working, what's not, and Schwartz's own ideas about why.
Rating: Summary: A must for Internet Marketing Review: This is the very first book I started reading to understand Internet Commerce subject. After I opened the book, I kept it down only after finished reading the book. This book gives a lot of real life examples to support the 9 essential principles the author is discussing about. The author gives both positive and negative examples why a particular web-site was a hit or a failure. A must read for anyone planning to put a business web site.
Rating: Summary: Insightful but could be trimmed down some. Review: I found the reading both easy and insightful, but I got the feeling that at some points the author could have made better use of the length of some of the text. This collection of principles should be examined by any one interested in "reaping" any kind of profit from the web. But you'll have to tread though some discussion that struck me as somewhat unecessary to proving any given point being made by the author. Bottomline: Worth the read, but it won't become a permanent part of my personal library.
Rating: Summary: A Solid Primer on Internet Commerce Review: I recently read Net Gain and then Webonomics. They make for a good twosome. Where Net Gain is long on theory and concepts, Webonomics fills in with excellent case studies and specifics. Schwartz is not the deep thinker like Hagel and Armstrong, but he provides great context for their ideas. Well worth reading...
Rating: Summary: Extremely intelligent and insightful Review: Webonomics covers a wide assortment of cutting-edge topics by thoroughly explaining the ins and outs of web culture. It has served as a great reference and learning tool. This book was a great compliment to an internet marketing course that I have recently taken.
Rating: Summary: Got me in the lane... Review: An enjoyable read. It got me motivated! But to really take you to where you want to go, you need a book that expounds the practical side of building traffic and getting visitors. My personal pick is Stanek's Increase Your Web Traffic. A while back Amazon picked as one of their choices in Internet business books and I heartily agree. I don't see how you can survive without it.
