Summary: Good Content but poor Examples
Review: This book covers XML and the related Technologies reasonably in depth but the examples are disappointing. Most of the chapters in this book use one XML file, I repeat, just one file! - a "book catalog" to base the examples. And some of them revolve around a similar file - again related to "book catalog".

The book also contains yet another unfocused chapter from the authors of Pro. XML with servlets and JSP. A web portal to buy stamps of a couple of European countries using US currency 8-<

If you are looking for some case studies of applications that use XML, buy Applied XML Solutions.

Summary: It's good..
Review: This book is arguably one of the best XML titles available. Its coverage of XML is up-to-date. So what if it doesn't focus on Java... i guess you were looking for an XML book... the best point about this book is that it's 'no nonsense' book. i think these words tell the whole story... :)

Summary: Total crap
Review: This book is awful. I can't believe my college used it as a text. this book stuffers the same problems as every other Wrox Press book. It sucks. It's over written because obviously a book with more pages is informative, it's rushed to press, as you can tell by having to have 13 or so authors pound it out practically over night. The book doesn't cover anything well it's written poorly, so poorly eventually I just started skipping around and defacing the book in class. It's amazing I've only owned 2 or 3 other books this bad and honestly their all Wrox Press that Red Cover is a big stop sign. AVOID THEM ALL THEIR ALL CRAP

Summary: too much M$, too primitive
Review: This book is horrible, too much IE5 loving. Has no or very little XSL references, but has a couple of chapters exclusively por IE5. Otherwise, it's too primitive a book, and doesn't allow to extend knowledges. Has interesting appendixes, however

Summary: <Stars Comment="I couldnt give six">Five</Stars>
Review: This book is the most advanced and readable work I have ever read on this field. Thanks to it I am making a lot of money and now I have an SLK roadster. The bad thing is that with so much wind on my head I'm getting bald like a snooker ball...

Summary: Pretty good book for XML Certification . . .
Review: This is a good book for IBM XML 141 certification. I passed my certification largely due to this book. The book covers a lot of ground and is an absolute must for the certification.
Also it covers not only XML but also a lot of other related technologies like XPath, XQuery,XSLT, XLink, XPointer, Databases and XML, SOAP, UDDI and WSDL etc.
Overall I think it is worth every penny and is a book I want in my XML book shelf. However one minor drawback of the book is the large number of authors.

Summary: Boring Book.!
Review: This is a very boring book. Chapters look like well organized, but content inside is mass and hard to follow. Don't buy this book.

Summary: Five Stars are not enough!
Review: This is even better than the first edition. I found Chapter 21: Case Study: Generating a Site Index to be very helpful. The author writes as if he is speaking directly to me. I was amused by the jazz references in the source document. "Mr. P C" has always been significant in my life. This is a "must-have" for the experienced XML professional.

Summary: BORING BOOK
Review: THIS IS MOST BORING BOOK I EVER READ

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Marks the beginning of an XML revolution !
Review: XML has allowed me to go beyond the bland, static and structured nature of HTML. This book also demonstrates with very comprehensive examples, the FULL power of XML. Normally multi-authored books aren't as comprehensive however, I am learning never to say never with Wrox......This book will definitely be a staple in my developer's library in years to come ...
