Rating: Summary: All-in-one Book that fails to Deliver Review: Don't be fooled this book does not contain the information you will need to build your SAP skills to Certifiable level. Basically this book is "about" obtaining SAP certification. The title should have been "SAP R/3 Certification Information". The books front cover the book proclaims, "Comprehensive test preparation...", this is just not true! I suppose I should not have been surprised, with only 767 pages you cannot expect a book to explain the detailed knowledge required to pass FI, CO, MM, PP, SD and ABAP modules, ( basis is forgotten completely like always!). For example SD information is covered from pages 205 to 216 that only 11 pages! Certainty the detailed knowledge required to pass the SD examination could NEVER be communicated in 11 pages. The section for each module just presents an overview of what you will learn if you pay $10000 and attend an academy! Thus this book totally worthless from the point of certification skill building! The "2000 practice questions..." are just general wishy-washy questions and answers that just don't seem relevant to the precise multiple choice and multiple answer questions contained in the certification examinations! Included are sections about the complementary software program and industry sector contact points within SAP. Good information for companies building third party "add-ons" to the SAP modules! But completely worthless for any certification candidate! Just for the author's information, "software certification" and "consultant certification" are completely different! The CD's a waste, I had expected it to contain practice examinations but NO, it just contains general R/3 marketing stuff probably downloaded from the SAP web site, again worthless for an examination candidate. In comparison, Jason. S. Couchman's book, "DBA Certification Exam Guide" has over 1250 pages devoted to the knowledge required to pass the Oracle DBA certification program. As a person who has completed certification from as both Oracle and SAP, I can say that at least 1250 pages PER SAP MODULE is required to communicate the knowledge requite by a certification candidate to successfully choose the correct answers from SAP's detailed, precise and sometimes tricky certification questions. For people serious about skill building and examination passing Wait for a better book(s). The market is still wide open for titles like "SAP R/3, [insert module name] Certification Exam Guide" written by experts, each presenting the full content of an academy course.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Coverage Review: I was very pleased to buy this book and see that it not only covered the certification process from SAP, but also had detailed questions and answers on every SAP course track! All in all this is truly a great book with a great deal of really excellent information. I am very highly impressed with this book and am pleased to endorse it.
Rating: Summary: Poor - very general material and will not help pass exam!! Review: I have also been waiting for this book for quite some time and I am very disappointed with its contents. The title is very misleading and will not help with the ABAP Certification exam (at least for ABAP). For the price of the book, I expected the CD ROM to have practice tests similar to that of the actual certification exam. Instead the CD ROM looks like it has film clips of Saphire etc. I have taken the exam once and did not pass. I will be using my class material and notes to pass the exam when I take it again. This book will not help you pass as its contents are very general whereas the exam questions are very technical and specific.
Rating: Summary: Very WELL DONE! Review: The author did an excellent job putting together so comprehensive a text. I was able to find everything I needed to know about SAP and the Certification Process. The book itself is written very well. The introductory material and the contact information are superb and really helped me out greatly. The questions and answers are the crown jewel of this text. Having this book makes me confident that I will indeed pass the certification exam! Overall, an excellent book!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I have been working towards passing my SAP Certification courses and was very pleased with this book. The questions and answers in this book are exactly what I needed to learn to pass my certification courses. The material in this book is really great because I can look at each question and go directly to the answer. The answers are very detailed and are of enormous help. I must write to say that if it were not for this book I don't think I would pass my SAP Certification test. I have over fifteen years experience in dealing with SAP, and this is by far the absolute best SAP book I've ever seen.
Rating: Summary: This book does not meet my expectations Review: I have just taken the certification exam on Friday last week in Germany. Having just received a copy of this book today and having quickly gone through it I can honestly say that this book will hardly contribute to passing the exam. Most of the pages are devoted to material which is hardly related to what the exam is all about. The sample questions are few and of completely different style. Multiple choice type questions of exam like quality is the stuff I was looking for. The accompanying CD is merely a collection of files of different topics (mostly sales presentation of SAP corporations). This title is useful to those who are new to SAP or of casual readership. It is not for the serious Certification Exam candidate. - What a pitty - Thorsten Klose, Augsburg, Germany
Rating: Summary: Very helpful for those who intend to study SAP R/3 modules Review: I waited for 3 months for this book to arrive at my doorstep. I was expecting that this would contain detailed questions similar to certification exam which most SAP R/3 CBT has. I find the questions very general and more for job interview type of questions. Nevertheless, this book will give you overview of SAP modules and is a very good guide before studying in any track of your choice. The CD which is included has no use at all. The title of the book is misleading. It should have been , "Guide for SAP R/3 Certification Study".
Rating: Summary: Very Happy Review: Wow! This book has everything in it including the kitchen sink! I am so very pleased and happy that someone finally put together a book about SAP Certification that has a a healthy amount of good information. Many kudos to the author for putting in everything I was looking for on the certification process in general and the test questions in specific! This book is highly detailed and very informative. I am very grateful that this book is on the market. Without a doubt, this book was the best money I've ever spent!!!
Rating: Summary: Best SAP book on the market! Review: I had the pleasure of receiving this book and I am very pleased with its content. I have been trying to get information about SAP Certification from SAP and it is very difficult. This guide was extraordinarily helpful in teaching me what the certification process was about, where to go to take it, and what type of content I could expect to see in the exam. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone going through the certification process. It is extremely good and you will find it very useful!
Rating: Summary: This Book will not help you pass the certification exam! Review: After a long wait, I got a copy of the book today. I arranged for express delivery from US.!!!! When it arrived I opened the book in anticipation.. ..But was very dissapointed. I was expecting complex certification type questions and solutions. The questions are generic, straight forward, no multiple choice and in plain English. Not the devisive language used in the exam. There is a CD with the book, but no guide as to what is in the CD. I was searching the CD for multiple choice questions ...but not there. The only plus point is it's an all in one book generic book.
