Summary: I want my money back.
Review: Huge errata, many mistakes, and lack of depth make this C++ one of the worse I've ever read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The book is thick, but it should have more meat.
Review: This book is great if you don't know anything about programming. However, if you already know C or either Java and want to learn one more OOP, please go to buy a harder book. I am not saying this book is bad. Overall it's a good book.

Summary: An excellent C++ book for C reads
Review: Having read many C++ books and still got confused by its complexity, I found this book clearup most of the cloud.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great book for anyone that knows C
Review: This book is quick and concise. It doesn't bog a reader down with 100 page details of what programming terms are, yet it doesn't let the new user fumble through completely unaided. If you know C and want to move on this book is perfect for you. I might suggest that a beginner start with a much simpler book, but if they try a little harder then a newbie should be able to use it as well.

Summary: every C programmer needs one!!!!!
Review: I found this book excellent; it's well structured and easy to read. It has been borrowed on numerous occasions by my peers and so far no complaints. Personally I use it as a reference point when coding C++ or even C. I am now looking for a similar book by Schildt which will take me into Java - Java from the ground up perhaps!!!!!

Summary: GREAT book on C++
Review: This is an excelent book on C++. It does an excelent job of explaining the mechanics of the laguage, up to and includeing classes and operator overloading. The best book that I have seen so far for learning C++.

Summary: Very good, but could use exercises for the reader.
Review: This is a very good book. I have 4 books on learning C++ and this is the best one yet. It's extremely well organized and more indepth than any book I've seen yet. Reading is easy to understand but doesn't treat you like an idiot. The way it is written would make it a great book as a reference as well. The only complaints I have are the lack of any exercises for the reader to do so that he may understand how each subject works. Merely reading someone else's code isn't good enough. Secondly, the author doesn't tell a beginner how to get started in any compilers. I realize that there are many, but instruction on how to get started with the major 3 (C++ Builder, Visual C++, and CodeWarrior) would help users get started using the code that you can download. This book is a must, but don't let it be your only book...

Summary: Great for a quick move from C to C++
Review: This book is great for C programmer to move to C++ in limited time. I've spent only several days to complete the book and start rewrite my C programs with C++.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book that make Complex C++ understand easy.
Review: I have read more than 10 books on C++ and found this book very easy to understand, particularly for Beginners and Intermediate C++ programmers. This book primarily writes from the compilers point of view. It doesn't just tell you how to write a C++ code but also tells you how a compiler treats your written code & talks extensively about how the compiler actually implements the user written code and this is what makes a programmer make very few mistakes while writing the code. Author has written this book keeping in view the beginners & intermediate C++ programmers and he has done an excellent work by making the complex C++ look very easy.

Summary: A good book
Review: I bought this to learn C++ after working with Pascal/Delphi. Well written, a good buy for someone wanting to learn the language.
