Summary: Don't even try W2K without this book!
Review: Great book. If you are planning an windows 2000 implementation, this is a great book. It provides enough detail for both the novice and experienced administrator/instegrators. Great advice and many well organized tables, as well as references to other resources will make this book a permanent addition to my W2k library!

Summary: Mediocre book on 2000 Server
Review: I bought this book with very high expectations after being extremely happy with previous Secrets books. After reading through much of the book I found that it only answered about 50% of the questions I had concerning 2000 Server where the previous Secrets books had answered 90% or more of my questions. I don't think this book was written up to the standards of the previous ones. I would not use this as my only, or even primary guide to 2000 Server.

Summary: Mediocre book on 2000 Server
Review: I haven't finished this book yet, and I don't know if I will, based on the errors and ommissions I've found in the first few chapters. For example in the installation section, there's no mention of booting directly from the CD. More important, there's no mention of the hazards of extremely large boot partitions that can keep a system from booting, either initially, or after a service pack. In the chapter on testing prior to installing, they mention roaming profiles, but don't mention network load. Claim that TCP/IP was invented in 1969.

Summary: Windows 2000 Server is here! Enjoy!!
Review: The wait has been long, and believe me, I've been waiting right along with you. Windows 2000 Server is here and I've written this book to capture the Zen of Win2K. Of course I cover the obvisous such as group policies, security, Dynamic DNS and Active Directory. But I also cover the pragmatic, such as offering a Daily Dozen list of Win2K tasks. More importantly, I address issues other books overlook including Terminal Services (one of the best hidden gifts in Win2K!).

Please join me in welcoming Win2K into our world. And I hope you enjoy the book.

Summary: Really nice !
Review: This book is a must if you want to build a Windows 2000 Server based network. A lot of tips are included, which will avoid you to loose time on details. From another hand, you should have some knowledge about NT before reading it. Anyway, it will stay on my desktop for a while !
