Rating: Summary: Totally Unsatisfactory!!!!!!!! Review: I bought this book today with the intentions of learning Visual Basic, however, I found out after opening this book that the author "Assumes" that people already know what he's referring to..... this book really goes over the "Wizards" very well, however, where's the BEEF? I am so disgusted with books that claim (which this one does) to provide "Expert Insight", "Authoritive Advice".... so in closing, if you're looking for a book that teaches you the wizards upside down, inside out and unsat *.txt files (for the source code which I must add are useless), then this book is for you! I gave it one * because there wasn't an area for 0 stars and that would be pushing it! Does that describe how unsatisfactory this book is?
Rating: Summary: Good Information - Poor Source Code Review: I found the information in this intermediate level book to be on par with the others in the "Unleashed" series (No, they are not intended for pure beginners). It was easy to follow and presented its subject matter in a clear way. However, there is one monumental problem with this book. The printed example source code is full of typographical errors. They are correct on the CD though.
Rating: Summary: The Intermediate-Advanced should be changed to beginning Review: I found this book almost useless. The first chapters on the new features of VB 6 were helpful, but after that it is a beginning VB programming book. If you are looking for a reference guide, look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: It is a very usefull book for the Intermediate to Advance. Review: I have found that this book has help me in building applications very quickly using the new features in rad. However the user must first have some knowldge of VB. However it opens the new world of VB6. It also makes references to 3rd party componets. The book is very helpfull in understanding that VB can be usefull in buiding templates which can then be tailored to specific requirements. It goes over ADO, and data base programming, DBGRID, MTS, Internet ect.
Rating: Summary: Good job Review: I use this book as an excellent reference for VB. We needed to write code for an internet application. Within a few hours of receiving the book we cleared up some confusion. Thanks Rolo.
Rating: Summary: Thoughts From A 17 Year Old... Review: In the words of my generation. This book is Phat! Perfect for the experienced VB programmer. It includes VERY in-depth details about almost every command in VB. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to take another step toward Mastering VB.

Rating: Summary: A lot of helpful content. Review: In this VB book, you can find whatever you want/need to find. Rob Thayer shows some of his techniques, which ARE sometimes quite helpfull. Basically this book has a lot of content for different sides of Visual Basic programming. Definately for a bit advanced VB 'users'. I give this book 5 because it helped me more than once with little problems like 'MAPI' etc. Really recommend it to any one who is into Visual Basic programming and want to become a skillfull programmer of it.
Rating: Summary: Brings you up to speed in all areas of VB6 Review: Most of the Visual Basic books on the market are either for the beginner or they address only one advanced topic in detail. This book covers all advanced topics in detail and will transform an intermediate programmer to an advanced programmer. Warning: this book is not for newbies with no coding experience.
Rating: Summary: In a word - Comprehensive Review: This book goes into detail on about 98% of the important features of VB6, the only lacking parts in my opinion are the parts on Internet capabilities of the language, but that is an entire book itself. I am a professional VB programmer and it is always by my desk at home and at work.
