Summary: One of the best how-to's I've ever read.
Review: This book is fantastic for moderate to experienced VB programmers that have a need to use Oracle. I don't know what I would have done without it. Because the ADO and Oracle do not mesh perfectly, there are definitely some tricks to know, especially for using stored procedures (a must in any enterprise level application). Like I said, a great resource.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great for the beginning programmer
Review: This book is for the beginning programmer, wanting someplace to start his journey in the world's favourite development tool and the world's best database. The author gets everything nearly right, except fails to investigate possible errors that occur in the "real world" of database programming.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: A little Misleading
Review: This book is really the vb programmer's guide to Oracle. This is a good general reference but it does not get into depth on visual basic side. THis book would be good for someone with little knowledge of how Oracle works.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Book - Problems with ADO to Oracle w/ Stored Procedure
Review: This is a great book and has been a lifesaver for our first project connecting Visual Basic to Oracle. However, the section on using ADO to return a recordset from a stored procedure doesn't appear to work. We gave up and went to oo4o. Other than that it is a wonderful book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great introductionary book
Review: This is a great introductionary book for both oracle user and vb programmer. I get a good understanding of oracle from this book. Highly recommended. However, there are some bugs in the code I download from sybex's website.
