Summary: Excellent book for those looking to learn Delphi 4.
Review: This book was written for a programmer looking to learn Delphi 4. It covers many areas of Delphi and programming, some which are rarely found in "beginner" books. This book is for newcomers to Delphi 4 that want to learn more. One of the area usually not covered, Windows programming, is covered in this book and adds depth. The questions and examples at the end of each chapter are excellent reinforcement.

Summary: Good book, but not for beginers.
Review: This is a very good book, excelent writing, but not for beginers; you need to know the fundamentals of object oriented programing (OOP), although the author takes a chapter to explain objects and classes, it is not enough, you need to understand, or at least have an idea of the concept of objects and inheritance to comprehend better how Delphi works. Besides that, the author explains in a very well manner how the intefase of Delphi works, how to start making your first applications and how to make them fast!, application debugging, project managing, user interfase and database interfase are very well explained; also it covers some basics on creatting visual components and the internet, which is explained in a good manner, not too deap but fair. So, I recomend this book to get acquainted with the Delphi rappid application developping interface (RAD) and to get to know the basics of visual components; then, after a while, get Masters or Developers edition and continue learning more indepth.

Summary: Much improved over earlier versions
Review: This is the best book available (10/31/98) for the beginningprogrammer of Delphi 4. While not suitable for someone who has neverprogrammed, little experience is necessary to understand the text. Do not confuse this text with the earlier books in this series for prior versions of Delphi. It is clearly superior.

Review: Tomorrow my boss will kill me. The book is so fat and I have not read åll teh pages. I still like the book. First 25 pages very good. And I got special price when I bought, some day I will be rich from this book. the book can also be used as brick and kill flies vith. But do not use book as brick if you want to read it. My brother also like book.

Summary: a good book for learning the basics
Review: Well, im just a kid. I was given a job to learn Delphi so the company bought me this book i said since i was gonna learn Delphi. so i took the offer. well this book is a good book for starting out the language. I have read sams books before like ones for VC++6 and VB3 & 5. i have always liked there books. im only a 16yr old kid i started programming at the age of 12 and i love it. so i recommend this book for you kids who want to learn Delphi. well wish me luck i have 2 other books i have to read before i start the job.
