Summary: Great Book, Wish I Had It Sooner!
Review: Took the test about 2 weeks ago and missed it with 61% (68% to pass); took it again yesterday and passed with 87%. Wish I could have gotten my hands on this book earlier! Very concise and points out essential items to know for the exam. I also have the Study Guide (which is good), but I had a hard time studying with it (info overload). As I don't have much hands-on experience with routers, I also used CBTs and watched a couple CCNA prep videos (starring Mr Lammle himself). If you're familiar with routers and general networking, this book should be enough. If not, get your hands on some other training materials.

Summary: The technical editor must have been a genius.
Review: I would like to see more works edited by this same gentleman. He did an excellent job.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS THE TEST. NOTHING EXTRA NOTHING MISSING
Review: Anyone with sixteen bucks can get a CCNA. Even me! The other books offer too much information that is not tested. Just memorize this book and you are all set.

Summary: Works great with the Sybex CCNA Study Guide
Review: This is a great addition to the Sybex CCNA Study Guide by Todd Lammle. After reading the study guide and reviewing the questions at the end of each chapter, I read this book for two nights just before I took my test. I received a 94%. I really think for the price of this book you can't go wrong. It's really a Cram Exam look alike, but it's better.

Summary: Innovative Exam Notes format helps focus your study efforts
Review: The CCNA Exam Notes book was designed to be a succinct, portable exam review guide that can be used in conjunction with a more complete study program (book, CBT courseware, classroom/lab environment) or as an exam review for seasoned professionals who don't feel the need for more extensive test preparation. It isn't our goal to "give the answers away," but rather to identify those topics on which you can expect to be tested and to provide sufficient coverage of these topics so you'll know where you stand before sitting for the exam.

Summary: An Incredibly Pogniant Book
Review: The Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide written by Lammle is a gem to be sure, but it contains entirely too much content in relation to what is on the test. I highly recommend reading the whole study guide, BUT, whatever you choose to do, buy the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes and drink in every word. This 300 pp. paperback book contains the nuggets of knowledge that the Cisco exam will question you upon. So, to summarize, buy the Sybex CCNA 2.0 Study Guide and compliment it with the Sybex CCNA Exam Notes! Don't forget to get some good router time in there too. I spent maybe 30 hours on a router. Doing these things, I scored a 913/1000 without breaking a sweat!

Summary: A Really Great Supplement to the CCNA Study Guide by Lammle
Review: I used the CCNA Exam Notes, by Lammle and Sean Odom, I found the explainations the exam notes book filled in the gaps left by the Study Guide. Thanks SEAN! I found the wording of the explainations worked better for me in this book than the highly acclaimed study guide by Lammle. I also used the CCNA Virtual Lab by Lammle. I would definetly recommend supplementing your preparation by using this book in addition to the Study guide and the Virtual trainer also by Sybex. I passed today with a good score. Hope this helps.

Summary: Best review for the $$
Review: This book has the best information for the CCNA exam out there. I found that the information review and some of the techniques (ip addressing within subnets) are outstanding.

The one assumption that this book makes, is that you have either done alot of router-sim or have hands-on experience. But it is an excellent review nonetheless.

Highly recommended to study right before the exam, work the problems and go through the review points, and you'll feel comfortable!
