Rating: Summary: Very very helpful Review: After reading the review that gave the book one star and called it "terrible", I was afraid of buying it. I decided to buy it anyway and I don't regret it. This is the first time I use EI and I found the book very helpful and very easy to understand. I actually thought this book would be easy to understand for very beginners (then again I have worked with other 3D apps, such as buggy-as-hell Strata Studio Pro, and have done some complex stuff, so I could be wrong.) I think the book is worth the money and highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A great Book Review: An excellent book about Electric Image (EI) on the Mac. Can also be used with the new Electric Image Universe. Written in a very systematic and clear order, taking you from an overview into deep water. Covers the animator as well as modeler, with easy to follow examples. I'll recommend the book to any Mac user who aspires to became a 3D artist especially using EI. It's suitable for the absolute beginner as well as for the advanced amateur. A must buy!
Rating: Summary: not for the beginner Review: Be prepared for confusing terminology, examples with demo plugs (no ability to import into electric image). If I had not already opened the cd I would return it pronto.
Rating: Summary: Great Information, Clumsy Presentation Review: It is an excellent resource if you have already mastered the basics of EI and are looking to take your skills to the next level. The tutorials are excellent. You just wouldn't know by looking at the book and browsing through it.The author really knows his business when it comes to EI. The book is unfortunately written in the same informal, folksy, slang-heavy style as so much other computer-graphics literature. It is also poorly organized. It really could've benefitted from the attentions of a good editor and a technical writer.
Rating: Summary: Overall it becomes what every EI user expects Review: It's been a while now since I stoped trying to get EI oriented magazines to provide me with the knowledge needed to solve the get-arounds in EI...by far the most complete 3D package in the professional animation world. it is NOT for begginers tho, a vast animation and EI terminology is to be acquired before even considering taking the plunge on the advanced stuff in this book (which is the main benefit)...I'd say, if you've done a couple of things in EI, and have done past work over other minor apps...then by all means get this babe.
Rating: Summary: Worth the money. Review: Its hard to find books on E I. This is a good one.
Rating: Summary: This book is as buggy as the software it describes Review: This book is terrible, I could only imagine anyone finding it useful if they basically already knew exactly how to use the program. This book will not teach you, in fact using it will make you more confused.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Reference! This is a must-have for users of EI! Review: This is a great reading and reference book for users of ElectricImage. This book covers up to version 2.9. and gives in-depth examples of many features of ElectricImage. Our company, HSMM, Inc. is constantly looking to stay on the edge in Architectural 3D Animation & this book has helped greatly!
Rating: Summary: The ElectricImage handbook, a must have for every EI user Review: This is an awesome book, it really helped me with great tips, techniques, and tutorials.... If you really want to get ahead in the 3D world using the best 3D software(EIAS), this book can definetly help you get there. If you do get the book, i recommend that you read the whole book.... Its got great material, inspiration and encourgement. A plus was the featured artist: Keith Lango. Buy the book, work hard, render fast, retire young. God Bless!
Rating: Summary: Certainly NOT FOR THE BEGGINERS!...hehe. Review: Well, it is very confusing...for the people entering Electric Image as a new toy in the puter, this books centers itself in the basic knowledge that more than whimpsical desire to animate is needed to even visualize 3d space in reality, first you need to get a thorough and objective view at what you are drafting to bring it to life in EI...this book really covers that last half of the process and is as wonderfull as the package, belive me it is worth the trouble (and I'm not talking because of the cd inside...:-D), and the money...btw, it won't teach you to become more curious nor observant...that you have to hack it out of your bones.
