Review: This book is a compilation of the common knowledge that is spread out through the Web about web design. There are tips that beginer designer should know before starting to design a web site, but there are no innovative ideas, no new desgin methodology is given.Not a bad book, but look somewhere else for something really new.

Review: If there is one book on web design I'd recommend above all others, it's this one. It speaks to everyone. Technical experts will appreciate how it unlocks creativity and provides fresh insight to web possibilities. Review: This books offers functions in a user interface that are visibly easier, sexier, and faster than the competition - preferably all three. It helps you fulfill the following criteria in your website: 1. Creates a clear and concise standard with plenty of illustrations and examples. 2. Saves time by including in the style guide any points of unique or unusual issue. 3. Organizes the style guide from the point of view of the developer with main headings for window type, function type, and document tupe. 4. Gives measurements, pixel width, text colors, link colors, font names, sizes and special features such as bold, italics, etc. 5. Creates a development directory for the templates, components, and graphics and includes the location of directory in the style guide. A fabulous book for those professional designers who are either redesigning an existing site or creating a new one from scratch!

Summary: the best book on web design
Review: When we started our web site 3 years ago, the web version of this book was our main source of inspiration. Our site now receives more than 100,000 visitors per month and was nominated for a 1999 Webby Award in the science category. We just ordered 50 copies for a web design workshop this summer. I am so happy this resource is finally available in print!

Review: A must have book for all those who are beginning or want to learn how to do it right. It cleared the confusion other books have created. Must book tells what's the goal but they don't tell you the basic and the means to get there. An excelent primer to the book "killer websites"
