Review: Hi guys, What a great job You did ! I bought your book only 1month ago and I already feel an expert here in Italy. I'm talkingabout Beginning ASP Databases. I would like to tanks The authors because their book is really fantastic, easy step by step teaching and explaining every aspect in the best possible way. I was really null about ASP and now after 3/4 of your book I could develope an important E-Commerce site. It will be on_line hopefully on the next 15 days. I also going to start a school in Genova about alla aspect of Internet web mastering and ASP programming. Really tanks to John Kauffman and the authors of the book. Summary: I built a complete intranet system using ASP with this book
Review: I had no ASP idea before. So I bought the book and spent some days in the library reading it. By the third week I had a complete intranet site for the managements of web based time sheets for the company. And now I can understand any ASP topic, in order to know if it is useful for our site. I strongly recommend this book. Background needed: a brief knowledge of Access, and any programming language, for using if-then's and for cycles. Some basic html is useful also.

Summary: "Beginning..."?
Review: I included a 4 star rating for this book, because I have no doubt it is wonderfully written for the right person. However, the name "Beginning ASP Databases" is a bit misleading. Fortunately, the first few pages tells you exactly what's in the book, who it's for, and what previous knowledge is assumed. Well - quite a bit of previous knowledge is assumed; including (on page 5) "experience with ASP" (? ). Page 4 suggests starting with "Beginning ASP" prior to using this book (?). I am willing to concede that I made an error in not knowing the difference between "ASP" and working with "ASP Databases". Anyway - just warning the true beginner out there...

Summary: Most Comprehensive and Quick to pick up book on ASP dbs
Review: I went from having zero knowledge about accessing databases using asp and VBscript to being able to customize my website with professionaly functioning web pages in a matter of 2 weeks. The book walks you through step by step instructions and examples quite like a professor would teach a class. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in learning this subject.

Review: Very informative booking which not only teaches the syntax of ASP but shows how to incorporate ADO as well. This book should be in every new ASP Developer's library. Hope an Intermediate ASP Databases book will follow soon.

Summary: Excellent beginners level book!
Review: If you are new to the Web programming, you will find this book an excellent choice in building applications right away. As a programmer of many years, I have found few books as well written for the beginners as this one. The authors style of showing the code first, then explaining it line by line was an excellent method for presenting the technology to beginners. With this book, I was able to construct several database applications in a matter of days. Bottom line... one of the few books I would strongly recommend to anyone interested in Web programming.

Review: I recently purchased this book and it was exactally what it said, Beginning ASP Databases. If you are a beginner and you have never worked with ADO or Databases in ASP this one is DEFINATELY FOR YOU. If you are comfertable with opening databases in ASP and performing the basic, select, insert, and delete. Look for something a little more advanced.
