Summary: good book
Review: bla bla bla, i just think it's a good guide to me:)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Attractive guide but with some errors and omissions
Review: Game guides for the Pokemon series like these are usually for casual players, or used by serious players mainly for the maps. There are a number of online, in-depth FAQ's on sites like gamefaqs.com which cover strategy that printed guides cannot. Prima's guide is certianly eye-candy when compared to the text file FAQ's found online. The maps are large and useful (by contrast, their Ruby/Sapphire guide has smaller maps which are harder to read for some locations.) However, there are shortcomings. It's ordered by area, so there are times when you must flip back through the book (after Team Rocket moves from Mahogany to Goldenrod, for example.) The Battle Tower is barely mentioned, the Pokedex only lists level-up moves for Pokemon (not TM or egg moves), and team rosters are only supplied for major opponents. It does have a very good breeding section and a listing of items. I recommend Prima's guide for the player who needs good maps, or who would like help getting through the game without spoilers for everything.

Summary: Good Guide
Review: I ot this guide for my brother...he needed it. But Crystal is a game you can pretty much do on your own, without help. There are no major puzzles (Zelda: Ages) that are impossible, so just do it on your own. But that's my opinion- get it if you want to. It's a very good book- very informative.

Summary: Kudos to the author
Review: It helped. BUNCHES. Even though I overread something and made a potential mistake, it helps SOO much. (Get it, Crystal players! *hypnotizes* Get...the...book) The whole breeding chapter is great. I was so VERY lost in what concerns breeding. (I never bought anything after Blue, so naturally I was lost.) I was new to the "happiness stat", and even newer to the happiness factor it takes to get Eevee and Togepi (and maybe some others I don't remember right now) to evolve. It's basically very, very good. ^_^

Summary: This was released too soon (Update)
Review: Prima's Pokemon Crystal strategy guide is very well written, and is beautifully designed. It has a great deal of information on items held, where they are found and their uses. It has a thorough section on the Pikachu 2 GS and held items from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, as well as Red/Blue/Yellow and an extensive section on types, new babies and breeding. Most all of this can be found in Prima's Gold/Silver Complete Pokedex guide. This book does not have information on trainers' rosters in the game save for the Gym Leaders and the detailed section on the Elite Four, the Kanto Gym Leaders and the final trainer, Red. This isn't important to some consumers, but it is to me. The book also has little information on the new Battle Tower which is supposed to be near Olivine City, there is only one mention of it in the book and it is nowhere on the Johto map. It is extremely easy to overlook. I feel that this book may have been rushed, reminiscent of the "Gold/Silver" rush when Gold/Silver first came out. Prima should have included at least something pertaining to the Battle Tower. It is not fair for consumers to buy more than one strategy guide for one game. If I want to purchase additional guides it should be based on the content not the lack thereof. Hopefully Prima will publish one that includes more Battle Tower information, until then, I recommend you wait for Versus Books or buy Nintendo's book. Prima's guide is nicely done, though.

Summary: Pokemon Crystal
Review: This book is filled with up-to-date information on pokemon crystal. Being a pokemon master, naturally this caught my interest. It is filled with maps, strategies and trainer pokemon information. Translation... everything you need to know (for ages 8+) to become a pokemon master. Of course you have to master the other pokemon games (red, blue, yellow, gold, silver and crystal) to claim yourself or your child a pokemon master. From the outstanding mind of Elizabeth.M.Hollinger came this 128pg creation, the ultimate pokemon crystal book.

Review: This guide helped me BUNCHES with my Crystal Version. This has;

A calender of events
A walkthrough
A breeding section
A pokedex guide to 251 pokemon (missing out Celebi)

It is VERY GOOD. ^_^

Summary: Beautiful Guide, Can be helpful...
Review: This guide is good. but not too much. It didn't give me much help on the unown puzzle. I recommend you buy this game guide if you really want it, or get the versus book or the nintend guide.
