The Struts Framework: Practical Guide for Java Programmers

Summary: Breadth but no depth
Review: While very short, this book is definitely not sweet. I needed a quick ramp-up on Struts for an upcoming project and while this book covers the basics is does so with almost no depth. Several chapters are only a couple of pages!

If you want to know what Struts is, this book may be helpful. If you want to learn Struts in order to apply it, find another book. Also, the writing style is not engaging at all. At times it felt like reading instructions for doing my taxes.

Review: You can do much better. I was glad I'd bought this book at my locak Barnes-n-Noble store, so that I was able to return it the same day and get my money back.

The examples are confusing, poorly-thought-out, and don't present struts in any way that makes sense.

I'd strongly suggest the O'Reilly "Programming Jakarta Struts" book instead.
