Rating: Summary: Best Intro C book, Period. Review: Hands down this is the best. To anyone interested in learning C, and if you have never programmed before, this book is written for you. Dont waste your time with "dummies" books, as this one, Absolute Beginners Guide to C is the most clear and concise and structured book, that I have ever read on C. And thanks to this book I can easily follow along with more advanced books. Great Job Greg
Rating: Summary: A great book for beginner programmers Review: This book is perfect for beginner programmers. Or if you are moving into C++. It helps you understand all aspects of C
Rating: Summary: Great Introduction to the C Programming Language Review: I have read this book cover to cover twice! That in itself says a lot. This book provides an easily explained overview of the basics of C programming. When I first read it I was about to take a class in C programming. Boy, did this book make that class easy! Just recently, I read it again, because I have been programming in other languages and wanted a good refresher in C before I started into C++. The book proved useful again. I normally read late in the day when work is finished. This book was not so technical that I got a headache trying to figure it out, but was simple enough for anyone to understand. It was easy to browse through concepts I was already familiar with, and key points were always 'standing' out somewhere where I would not miss them.
I would recommend this book for beginning programmers, programmers wanting to switch over to the C language, and especially programmers wanting to learn C++, but want some sort of foundation in C before they begin
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: This is the BEST Beginner's C Book, EVER! Without this book,
I would`ve never succeeded in my programming. Thanks Greg!
Rating: Summary: Where novices begin Review: I've always wanted to program and was fortunate to have bought this book. Unfortunately it was a year after buying K&R which, even though it was easy to do "hello world" didn't explain the language to me. I like to know why things are done how they are and this book clearly explains what a seasoned programmer may see as obvious without the tech speak ... and I myself am a techy. Although I've not completed the book yet, lots of code I've seen before now makes literal sense to me. This is a great text for teachers who may also want to touch on C with a class of youthfull programmers. A wonderful buy ... 5 stars
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I am 13 years old and I just finished reading this book. I got interested in programming after playing some of my favorite games, and so this is where I started. This is a great and very easy to read book. I would seriously recommend this book for beginners or people who used to program in a different language (BASIC, Java).
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: An excellent book on C for "beginners". Anyone with previous programming knowledge should look elsewhere.
