Rating: Summary: clear concise and accurate. Review: This is an well-organized manual that helps guide you through the tough process of getting your CCIE certification. It's obvious that they have a thorough understanding of the Subject matter. It is more that a study guide. This is a great book to have for reference.
Rating: Summary: This book will be as good as gold to those who need it. Review: 5/30/99 - As technical reviewer for this book, I can comment on it although it is yet to be published. I believe this book is an excellent implementation guide for those candidates who want to prepare for the Cisco CCIE Lab exam. I also think this will be an excellent reference guide for existing CCIE's as well as anyone who works with Cisco routers. I know that when it is published, it will be one of my most referenced materials. If I want to see how to implement a particular function, I have the concept, the associated commands, multiple example configurations, and status/troubleshooting tools, 'All-in-one' concise section. The material presented is accurate and concise, each concept is presented by itself, without other unrelated information involved to possibly confuse the reader. As stated, each concept is explained, the particular commands relating to the concept are presented and defined, then actual lab configuration examples are presented and explained. At the end of the configuration example, status monitoring and troubleshooting commands relating to the concept are given and defined, which gives the reader the tools to see that the implementation of the concept is functioning as expected, or not. This book displays an excellent teaching style. Chad Marsh - CCNP, CCDA
Rating: Summary: Great book, but kind of basic Review: I just purchased this book, I found it very well written and organized. It has great practice labs and detailed explanations on routing and desktop protocols. I find myself using this more as desktop reference than a study guide. Great book..
