Rating: Summary: Great technical reference Review: I have bought just about every CCIE prep book on the market (Caslow, Lewis, Giles etc). This is by far the best of the best. I don't usually write reviews, this is only my second one, however I had to for this book. It's refreshing to see a book whose material, actually reflects the title. I can't tell you the number of times I purchased a book based on the title and end up being disappointed. This book is truly an All in One Lab Study Guide.
Rating: Summary: This book met all of my study needs Review: This is a must for any candidate serious about passing the CCIE. The ATM and routing chapters are great. This is the only book I have seen that thoroughly exams each topic necessary to pass the CCIE.
Rating: Summary: Best study guide on the market. Review: This is by far the best study guide on the market. The broad coverage of key technologies makes this a must have for any candidate serious about passing the CCIE lab. I especially liked the chapters on OSPF and BGP. Not only do I use this book as my primary study guide but also as a technology reference at work. Great book !
Rating: Summary: The best CCIE Book to date Review: Excellent book written in a very logical and step-by-step approach. Each chapter starts with simple problem scenarios and ramp up to very complex stuff. Definite book to have for CCIE prep
Rating: Summary: Too Simple ! Don't get misled about the theory of Network! Review: Based on the comments on this book, I bought this book two weeks ago and so far finished most of the Labs on Cisco Lab. It is kind of useful for the first time learner about the Network theory without any experience of hands-on.If you look at the Lab carefully, you might find out those Labs are the simplest ones in the world, not in the real production world, even for understanding the concept of network protocols ! I am afraid of the reader might get misted to the concepts of network through those Labs. Although this is the first book on the market about the CCIE Lab, please be careful on the understanding the concepts of network - not just through those SIMPLEST situations !
Rating: Summary: This book is good -- for those who can't access the routers Review: The book give detailed output message of a router, which make it look much BIGGER than it is. The senario is too easy for the real lab. But for those who can't access a router, this book can give them the FEELING of what the router looks like.
Rating: Summary: A book that will be worth those 80 bucks Review: I am a person of few words, hell I even came to Amazon again just to put in a review for this book(very unlike me) A great companion for not only the lab but also for preperation for the CCNP exams. By far the best book for tying all those lose ends together, no matter how many there are. True this book does lack in a few areas but what the book does cover is what makes this a must-have. A valuable resource throughout your studying as well as your working career.
Rating: Summary: This book is good, but... Review: I read this book one day whole pages. Readers must be read more another books for CCIE Lab. 1. ATM (LANE) and C5K 2. DECnet and CLNS 3. DLSW and RSRB 4. BGP 5. IPX (NLSP) 6. Access list (200,700,1200) etc
Rating: Summary: Finally a CCIE book that covers the lab. Review: The ATM and routing protocol chapters were great. This book is an excellent study guide. The 80 + labs provide plenty of study scenarios.
Rating: Summary: This book is good but lacks a few things Review: I like the labs on NAT, ATM and BGP but ... What happened to - DLSW+, Bridging - Transparent, SRB, DECNet, X.25, Queuing, NLSP Vijay.
