Summary: My rating is Excellent
Review: I appreciated the advanced level that this book offers. It has been a source of reference for me at work and has opened new vista's for me in where I want to be professionally. I would have liked to have seen more automation via code behind the scenes; but this book delivered what is was intended to do explore the analysis of data using Excel. He opens another door for the user with Data Analyzer and I look forward to more publications by this author, because of his knowledge of the material covered. He is not just another writer who reads a few help files and puts out a book, he is a developer in every sence of the word. I also found some good articles by this author on the MS web site which should give you a good indication of his writing and Excel abilities. The articles are what influenced my decision to purchase this book. Another thing I liked about the book was it comes in eBook form on the CD which helps if you want to read along as you do the exercises. Paul, how about another that goes even higher, maybe with Data Analyzer and SQL?

Summary: A Typical Computer Book! Too many critical errors!
Review: The Book plan is very good. Fairly well written. However it was written primarily for Excel 2002, not Excel 2000. Chapter four which was one of my main reasons for purchase did not help me much with Pivot Tables. NONE of the Exercises in Chapter 4 would work on my excel 2000, and the Microsoft on line was of no help. Any Buyer wanting to use this book with Excel 2000 should forget about it. The book advertizes on its cover that it covers Office XP and Office 2000. It does NOT work well with 2000, and I am not sure about 2002.

Summary: Good book but for very advance users only
Review: This book is for IT professional only.
Don't expect this is a step by step series book.

The author leaves you to investigate the concepts on already built worksheets from the disc that comes with the book. Doing so leaves a lot of assumptions that you know what you look for to begin with.

However if you are very advance users, you might find it better that way since the number of pages reduce a lot.
It means you can finish the book much sooner and the book can be a good comprehensive reference.

To general public, it is a 3 stars,
but I would give it a 4.5 stars because I do learn something from it.

Summary: Simply the best book in Excel Data Analysis
Review: This book is the number one in Excel Data analysis. Very comprehensive and the best of all its all about doing data analysis real time. The book has taken a practical approach with real data from business which helps one immensely to grasp the logic.

Excellent buy. Would recommend it to anyone.
