Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good to Studty for Exam Review: I read many other security books but use this one mostly to study for the test. The authors have a good way to explain everything so it makes sense when you got to take the test. I am certified now. Many thanks to this book!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Well right, easy to use pakage Review: I bought this book because it was the only book I could find on the new CompTIA exam. Turns out, it's an excellent book, really easy to read, covers everything, and has a lot of good sample test questions. As previous readers have said, the DVD is great--like buying a book and getting a whole other training product for free!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent. Review: Have my exam scheduled for next week- I had ordered this book some time ago, got it last week, and have spent a good deal of time with it over the last wee4k or so- excellent book! Seems very well laid out, hits all of the objectives laid out by Comptia, and covers them all in huge detail. The DVD is an added bonus- I had no real expectation for the DVD, and was surprised it was so well done, and full of info. This book is a keeper!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wish I had this for the beta Review: I took the beta exam before this book came out and I just missed passing (ok, I failed). I got this book right when it first came out, because I really do want to get the cert, and I've beenr reading it ever since. After taking the beta and reading this book, I really feel like I'm prepared to pass. Thre's so much stuff on the exam, it's hard to know everything. This book talks about all of the test objectives and the questions in the book really help. They are hard. If you get these right you will pass. The DVD is pretty cool also. You can only read for so long, but if you know you need to keep studying you can throw in the DVD and relax a little bit.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Security+ SYO-101 Review: This is a very good book for the Security+ SY0-101 exam. Having just passed the exam i can recommend this book to anyone looking for an in depth study with explanation of each of the five Comptia Security+ domains. The book is written very well, although there are grammatical errors throughout. I used to book in conjunction with the exam cram book and multiple practice tests and passed with flying colors.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: sucks Review: I just took the test. I read this book and Sybex by Michael Pastore and failed the test horribly 620-900. Don't waste your time with these books. The test is designed to go in depth about the general concepts. In which you won't find in these books. And there alot of mistakes, and not enough information in both of these books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Buy it from the publisher Review: This is a very informative book with a lot of good tips and practices. Given the complexity of the Security+ exam, this book does a good job of covering the essentials without being just another "cram" guide that doesn't explain anything beyond how to memorize an answer.
The one downside - I would have purchased this eBook from Amazon -- until I realized that I could get it direct from Syngress for HALF the cost. Huh, what's up with that, Amazon?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Authors are in fact S+ certified Review: To the reviewer who said that the author(s) are not Security+ certified: I am one of the authors on this book and am in fact Security+ certified, as I believe all of us are. However, this did not make it into the book at the time the bios were printed.
