Rating: Summary: Another nutshell of a reference Review: This is a great reference book for any and all ASP developers. I was first introduced to the Nutshell series when I was taking a Java course and the instructor handed out the Java in a nutshell book. I loved it so much that I decided to buy the ASP in a nutshell.I for one hate reading stuff online, and being a application developer I really hate surfing the web, especially Microsoft MSDN site, having to finger my way through all the links. A great reference book that is already in being put to good use by the other developers on the project. I have to hide it sometimes just so I can refer to it when I need to. "GET YOUR OWN!" Blave
Rating: Summary: No fuss and Straight to the point Review: This book does not waste time on unncessary stuff and provides straight to the point information and examples. Highly recommended for experienced developer.
Rating: Summary: Great book, not just for reference Review: Although meant as a desktop reference, this book is great read from front to back. Clear, concise and immensely helpful for more advanced ASP folks. Indespensable on your next consulting job. I only wish it covered ADO 2.0 instead of 1.5, so you'll also need WROX's ADO 2.0 book.
Rating: Summary: Not for beginners. Great Reference. Review: The is NO Bull ASP reference book. Should be on any developer's table. Beginers Don't buy. For Expert use only.
Rating: Summary: A nice addition to any web dev library Review: While not a be all end all book for Web Developers, this is a great supplement to the Wrox book and when combined with the Visual Interdev Web Technologies Reference (Microsoft Press) the three are all you need to be a god of ASP. I especially like the detailed examples and definitions of all methods and propeties of the components and objects.
Rating: Summary: A priceless source of information for every ASP programmer Review: This book maybe is the best I've seen until now to create ASP applications. Every ASP object is described in detail, you have a description, the properties and methods, un-documented features and useful and concise examples (code) about how to use them. There are no errors in the code, so everything works perfectly. An excellent job done with this book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Resource Review: O'Reilly prints some of the best darn computer resource manuals on the market. A superb reference for anyone who writes ASPs! Without all the fluff of most computer manuals...no useless demos! Way to go Weissinger.
Rating: Summary: Best ASP Resource Available Review: I love O'Reilly books. No off-topic discussions or useless screen dumps to fatten the book up, just concise, clear, CONTENT. This book is meant to be a desktop quick reference, but I ended up reading it from cover to cover. It provides information several of the "tutorial" books missed. If I could only have one ASP book, this would be it.
Rating: Summary: Good reference and code samples, but... Review: Somewhat in a rush and while trying to learn ASP I purchased this book. I thought it was aweful and it collected dust for nearly 6 months while I searched elsehwere to boot myself up on ASP. However, now that I'm fairly proficient at ASP, this book has been helpful as a reference. No so much for the actual reference value but becasue the sample code helps put things in perspective.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: This is a wonderful reference. It is not for the beginner, but it is easy to understand and very straightforward with great, consise examples. Truely a find, it replaced multiple other ASP books that I had. It has good descriptions of every ASP object, server side includes, global.asa ActiveX objects and more. Buy this book now.
