Rating: Summary: The Basics and So Much More Review: I bought this book thinking it was a book for beginner's like myself. And, even though it does cover all of the stuff that I needed to learn, install, and administer IIS 5, it just has so much more. I see the reviews here and they all talk about something really neat about the book. And, I agree with all of them. But, something that really sticks with me after reading through this book is how also walks through HTML, DHTML, VBS, ASP, Java, and how to connect to databases. I'm really new to internet servers and languages, but this book was easy enough to read that I understand it completely. And, I know exactly how it all works with IIS because of all the script examples included in the pages. I didn't know how much IIS uses VB Script. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Best Guide for Beginners! Review: I can't believe all the information in this book! It is written very logically, allowing you to understand IIS, then to learn the technologies involved, then how to install, upgrade, and migrate systems, then on to troubleshooting problems. Reading this book from cover-to-cover is a must! It helps you to step-through the learning process at a pace to really understand IIS.

Rating: Summary: Starts OK, ends weak Review: I had already installed IIS 5.0 but really did not know what I was doing. The first 1/3 of this book was somewhat useful but I got absolutly nothing from the last 50%. He went from pictures and diagrams to nothing but theory on topics that 99% of the people are not going to be using if they bought this (beginners) guide. I can't see myself using this book more than a week at most. I would look somewhere else if I was you.
Rating: Summary: IIS 5.0 - Full Metal Jacket Review: I have to admit, this book kept me reading long into the night. It is easy to read and easy to understand. After reading it I can honestly say there were tidbits of information in it that I literally could not find anywhere else. I've bought the other IIS books, so I have some good knowledge under my belt. But, this one seemed to have everything the other books had and so much more. Its funny...the other books I have are approximately 400 pages just like this one. But, what the other books cover in the full 400 pages, this one covers in the first 4 or 5 chapters, and then goes on to cover everything else under the sun for IIS 5.0.
Rating: Summary: Way to go! Review: I rarely buy a book I am completely satisfied with. The author took the time to include all the topics I needed to understand IIS 5.0 and to understand what IIS 5.0 can do for my company. Its written in a clear, easily understandable manner so even my small brain can go from newbie to pro.
Rating: Summary: So many uses for this book! Review: I used this book to migrate our IIS 4.0 servers to IIS 5.0, and then I needed to give some training classes on IIS 5.0 to the other admins in our company. I was sincerely surprised to find how easy this book was laid out. I was able to create some great course materials using this book alone! Now, all of the other admins are up-to-speed and IIS 5.0 is running great.

Rating: Summary: No useful information Review: I'm a webmaster who is dealing with IIS for the first time and I found this book to be utterly useless. Doesn't give much information about how or why things are done. It is basically a bunch of screen shots with shallow explainations of the different options. A waste of time and money.
