Summary: Excellent resource for New and Tenured Developers
Review: Great book for learning ASP and makes an excellent reference way beyond the "21 day" learning period. Its written by the fellas at ... which says it all...

Summary: A good asp book
Review: Well, I bought this book last October, I read it very fast and I learnt a lot. I also downloaded a lot of material from the Web to learn more about some arguments. What I wanna say now is that this book gives you the right basis to start using correctly Asp tecnology. Thank a lot again. Greets from Italy

Summary: Excellent Book - Buy it
Review: I have very little programming experience and now I can build database driven applications....this book is a must have if you want to learn ASP from start to finish.

Summary: Once a programmer, always a programmer.
Review: Ok. Coding ASP is actually scripting. Nevertheless, I have spent the last 5 years doing functional work as a program and project management consultant. In December, I had some downtime and decided to buy this book on a lark and put it down 21 days later. After 5 more weeks I wrote approximately 8000 lines of ASP code and developed two different web-based applications... both of which are in use by rather large compaies. In short, I have been very pleased to learn what the book taught in a very straightforward manner and would recommend it as a starting point for anyone interested in learning ASP.

Summary: Another happy reader!
Review: This was my first experience with programming! Within a few months I had built an excellent ASP website and I owe it all to this book. It was well layed out in that if you understand the information it was easy to skip to to the next subject but if you needed more information each script was well described. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: Very Informative and Readable
Review: I found this book to be very helpful in learning the basics of ASP. The information seemed to be thorough enough and was written in a very readable style. Thanks!

Summary: Excellent Book - Great for any shy beginner
Review: Ladies and gentlemen this is by far one of the greatest texts on this topic and should be on your bookshelf or desk. If you are a beginner that wants to start his/her journey to learning ASP and are confused where to start, then look no further - grab this book! Also the authors site is excellent. DO NOT plunk down 2 thousand plus dollars on a class taught by Charles Carrol. I personally attened it and was let down I give his class a 1 star. (sorry for any fans of him but that is how I felt and so did the others in the class)

Summary: Very Poor Book
Review: It should be called "Familiarize Yourself with ASP in 21 days." The first 8 days are horridly basic and the rest focus more on VBScript than anything else.

Furthermore, the book is plagued with formatting errors and misinformation. The idea that a loop is *always* faster than writing out statements is ludicrous. Despite the authors' assertions, VBScript's string functions are less useful than Java or JScript and equal to Javascript.

In addition, the authors mix up fairly important information on a regular basis, such as confusing HTTP and HTML and referring to HTTP as "the HTTP."

The greatest sin, however, is the lack of explanations. The authors throw in things such as the Now() function and Classes without decently explaining them. Classes are glossed over so badly that if I hadn't programmed in C++ for as many years as I have, I would have been totally lost. Not a good thing for a "beginners" book, especially as Classes are apparently a highlight of this book.

In short, stay away from this horrid book. Far, far away!
