Rating: Summary: Solid Review: If you are looking for solid, fundamental view of the Photoshop world, this is the must-have series. Especially those of you who would like to be an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), this is the best guide book for you to buy. This isn't your magic book of photoshop for tricks and short cuts per say, rememeber, this is for pure fundamental learning purpose.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: It was very informative. Lynda Weinman's book is the only other book that I would reccommend over this one. It really takes you from start to finish through every tool...
Rating: Summary: Photoshop 5.5 classroom Review: It's very simple to understand contents. and It has good book design
Rating: Summary: studio Review: je suis un artiste peintr,j'aime l'outil infographique.
Rating: Summary: Finally, a good book on Photoshop Review: Most computer books spend plenty of time showing you what you can do. In this Photoshop book, you learn how you use the program. The lessons are straight forward and easy to follow. As you progress through the book, you find yourself using the new techniques and gaining speed and knowledge of the program. I wish that more manuals were written this way. Perhaps Adobe should include this book with the software since it is much more useful than the manuals. If you want to learn Photoshop, start here.
Rating: Summary: The best book for beginers Review: The best book for beginers even though its a little dificult to follow
Rating: Summary: Well organized. Easy to understand! Review: The book walks you through various examples by teaching you the necessary skills step by step. Simply an excellent resource for beginners to intermediates.
Rating: Summary: Good tutorials... Review: This book (Web Edition) is intended towards beginner/intermediate use. Personally, I believe it is best to have a good grasp on PhotoShop's tools and keyboard shortcuts, as the tutorials are defined through every mouse click (eg, Edit > Free Transform), and are much quicker using shortcuts. By the way, either Mac or PC users will benefit from this book, not one platform versus another. There are lessons on Illustrator and ImageReady being integrated with PhotoShop, as well as tutorials using some of PhotoShop's more advanced techniques such as channels and the pen tool, so the reader will get their feet wet. There is a CD included with all of the files needed for the tutorials, which works on either Mac or PC. Ultimately, this is not a reference book, but is, as obviously stated in the title, a classroom in a book.
Rating: Summary: Classroom in a book is, in fact, a classroom in a book. Review: This book is a great tutorial for beginners. However, I found that it's not so useful as a reference manual. The numerous exercises walk you through several tasks, which is a great way to develop basic and intermediate skills like selecting, tool handling, changing settings of a tool and layer tricks. The exercises are fun and clearly written. It sometimes does make you feel a little like a 'buttonpusher' - The exercises tell you to change a setting, check that box, change this option, but the explantion of what you're actually doing is not always included. That is exactly what is lacking: the book doesn't give you a detailed list of options, features and how to use them. You will often find referrals to the online help for further information. If you're looking for a beginners tutorial, this is the book for you - a good classroom in a book. If you're looking for a reference manual, go for one of the million other books out there, for instance the Photoshop Bible.
Rating: Summary: Good investment Review: This book is a must for any Adobe photoshop user. How ever, it is not writen in a reference book style. I sure hope that Adobe Corporation would be more concern about their customers and make a real user friendly reference manual about their Photoshop. We do not mind paying, please give us a good reference manual and charge us for it.
