Summary: Problem with Page 109-Page 111
Review: I just read two lessons, and between page 109-page 111, there are a few paragraphs on "Creating evenly spaced buttons for a web page". Every time I tried to drag the styles on to view inside ImageReady, the style is applied to the while view swallowing EVERY button in the view. I don't know whether the editors tested the instructions thoroughly.

Summary: Learn while doing... the best way
Review: I love the Classroom in a Book Series. the best way to learn is by doing an actual job and this takes you through it step by step. This is better than the "WOW" and "Essential" series because each step actually WORKS! Those other books always leave you hanging because they leave out a minor but important variable.

Summary: This is a must have for any photoshop user!
Review: I purchased this book not knowing much about Photoshop but being a photographer I needed to learn and learn quick so I could perform my job. This book is the best thing I have bought in a long time. The instruction was simple and I was working away in just 4 hours. I could not reccomend a better book than this. You also can't find a better deal than this price!

Summary: probably the best books ive ever read
Review: i really really recomend this book to anyone who wants to learn about adobe photoshop 5.5, and even if you dont want to learn about photoshop 5.5 i still recomend it for you. This book goes step by step by step on every bit of instruction to create the best looking graphics that are just out of this world. And don't even think about the price, because its well over worth it. I would probably even pay more for it (well maybe not) but the bottem line is....just get it!

Summary: Great aid for a teacher
Review: I teach computer classes to Jr. High students. This book has helped so much in writing lesson plans. It actually has projects already written and supplies the art for them in the included CD. In has a color section in the center of the book that shows the details of the finished projects. It is written in an easily understood format and covers beginner to advanced techniques. What a dream!

Summary: great beginner book, but no scanning info!
Review: i teach photoshop and use this book as a text along with 2 other books since there is no scanning info in this book!...in version 4.0 there was a chapter on image correction basics which is not in this book...the layer chapter in version 4.0 is better also...even with these faults it is the easiest book for beginners to understand and follow without being overwhelmed by text!...the other 2 books i use are PEACHPIT PRESS / VISUAL QUICKSTART GUIDE PHOTOSHOP 5.5 and HAYNES & CRUMPLER/ PHOTOSHOP 5 ARTISTRY...the visual qs guide is a great inexpensive reference...it does not have a cd of images, so is not great for those learning who have no scanned images...the photoshop artistry book is excellent for photographers, but a bit text-heavy for beginners, so i use it for my level 2 students!

Summary: Highly recommended by working professional designers!
Review: I've been interested in getting up to speed in Photoshop for a while, but wasn't sure where to begin. I happen to work (as a copywriter) at a company that designs Web sites for large, well-known corporations. No less than three designers working day in/day out in Photoshop have unhesitatingly recommended Adobe's Classroom in a Book to me.

And, at a 30% savings, where's the argument against? I'm ordering my copy right now!

Summary: Dry, but an incredibly valuable tool for Photoshop users.
Review: I've been searching for books on Photoshop 5.5, and this is the only one I have found. And boy and I really thankful. It delivers everything it promises and so much more. I really like the classroom approach to Photoshop because it Photoshop is such a robust program.

The review questions at the end of each chapter really reinforce what you have learned. The color insert is incredible and worth the price of the book alone when you see how the end result should actually look. Chapter 9 on Special effects is great. I am really weak on mask and channels and Lesson (Chapter 5) really has allowed me to do things I never could before. Thanks again. The book is really dry as books go, but I'm okay with that because I really need some serious help when it comes to learning a program like Photoshop 5.5.

Summary: One of the best instructional book I have ever purchased
Review: I've used Photoshop briefly before, but until now never knew the power of this application. I purchased both the Adobe Classroom in a Book and Photoshop 5.0/5.5 Wow!. Of the two I favor Adobe's book because it explains what you will accomplish in the lesson and then takes you through step by step until the lesson is complete. Although most, if not all of the pictures are from a MAC, you'll have no problem understanding the material using your PC. I have purchased several books while completing my MCSE status, and this book compares to Alan Carter's book NT 4.0 & MS How To books. If you really want to see what Photoshop has to offer I highly recommend Adobe's Photoshop 5.5 Classroom in a Book.

Summary: Solid
Review: If you are looking for solid, fundamental view of the Photoshop world, this is the must-have series. Especially those of you who would like to be an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), this is the best guide book for you to buy.

This isn't your magic book of photoshop for tricks and short cuts per say, rememeber, this is for pure fundamental learning purpose.
