Rating: Summary: One of the Worst Review: Probably the most useless instructional manual i have ever seen. The book consists of little beyond the most general topics.. Whats the procedure around here for getting one's money back?
Rating: Summary: Waste of space Review: This book is for HR people and people who like to fiddle around with configuring reports. Dont get fooled by the index because there is not much more information than that. There is only half a page on Materials Management plus a few pictures, thats all. Practially nothing on logistics, quality and production planning. If tou want detailed information about a particular module my recommendation is BUY ANOTHER BOOK!
Rating: Summary: VERY, VERY BASIC Review: This is a good book for a very basic overview of SAP. If you want more detail, get something else.
Rating: Summary: This is the only Intro book available to SAP R/3 Review: This is the only intro book available on SAP R/3. The book is on the way of getting outdated. The screen shots in the book and Real life screen shots (SAP 4.6 C or D) differ a lot. From this book, one does not learn much except navigation of SAP's various modules. It also gives some basic ideas abt using SAP system. This book is aimed at the end user and not for wannabe SAP Consultant.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Introduction to SAP R/3 Review: This well-organized, comprehensive book contains lots of helpful information to get you started with SAP. After completing the 24 1-hour sessions, I feel I have built a solid foundation in SAP. I would highly recommend this book as an excellent way for SAP R/3 users to gain an understanding of all SAP has to offer. In addition, it will teach you how to effectively use the system. I found the chapters on reporting to be very helpful. I am now able to write my own reports by following the step by step directions given in this book. In just 24 hours, you too can become a more productive and confident user of SAP.
Rating: Summary: A piece of the puzzle..... Review: While I appreciate what Larocca was trying to accomplish, the book has a number of shortcomings. It's dated, and therefore focused on what's becoming only a small piece of the SAP software story. And it's audience seems to vary from chapter to chapter. Of the 10+ books I have dealing with SAP, I put this one in the middle of the pack - I was compelled to finally pick up a copy (used, please!) given that it continues to top the best sellers. But I must say that if you really want to learn SAP from a technical, implementation, or administration perspective, you need to keep looking. I'll rarely flip through the pages of Teach Yourself again, but know from the dog-eared pages in my books by Jacobs/Whybark and G Anderson that really good books - ones that probably have a better claim to teaching you anything in 24 hours - exist.
Rating: Summary: Laughable! Review: You have GOT to be kidding me! As a consultant who specializes in SAP implementations, I think this book is as silly as a self-help title. The information addressed is so general that one wonders how a person can even get near this monstrous ERP system without having been trained to a far greater degree than what the author proposes. As ludicrous as "Learn Brain Surgery in 24 Hours." AVOID!!!
