I loved the extensive examples of practice items. The 2 practice exams at the end of the book are right on the mark! Great job by the authors and the editors. My advice: Do not take the S+ exam without going thru this book!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Used by everyone at my job -- EXCELLENT book! Review: I work at a large company and security is a big push lately. As a result many of our employees have started with this security certification. After the directive there were countless books on the subject going around, and the general consensus is that this is one of if not the best book out there. It is accurate, digestible and dare I say interesting. I have used Exam Cram's in the past, and with the exception of one of the Microsoft ones, I have never been let down. Best of luck in your studies, and I hope this review helps others.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent Book! Review: I'm not sure why that one reviewer says there is no coverage of advanced topics. This book has CompTIA's CAQC approval, which warrants that the book covers all objectives sufficiently. The book could not have received the CAQC approval if it failed to cover exam topics.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Decent exam preperation but not quite enough Review: I've used the EC2 series for A+ and Network+ and they were terrific. The EC2 Security+ is also a very good overview of the material contained on the exam, however I didn't find it to be as complete as their A+ and Net+ books. The Exam Cram 2 Security+ book with the PrepLogic Demo exam used in conjunction with Transcender Security+ practice exams was sufficient to pass the exam with an 828.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent work for the Security+ exam study tool. Review: One side of the IT industry that is busting at the seams is security, I can not count the number of job posting for the security arena. Yet to get the entry level security jobs you have to have a way to separate the candidates and CompTIA has the exam called Security+. Having worked on 3 Security+ book over the past year, this exam cram book certainly has all the major points or highlights in one place. The authors, who have extensive years in the IT industry and the Security arena, have condensed the objectives and given you a tool that is meant to be used as a final stage prep tool. One thing about Exam Cram books is they can not replace knowledge and experience and if you are looking for the all the test answer, then this book isn't for you. However if you are looking to be able to put the finishing touches on your exam prep, than this book makes a fine addition to the QUE Security+ Training Guide. One thing that has always impressed me about the Exam Cram Series is the tips and hints throughout each chapter as well as the practice questions, which have excellent explanations with them. This book like other in the EC2 series includes the Prep Logic tester, and as with other books the entire set of questions should be included. Overall this book not only makes a fine tool for the exam but would come in handy after with the real life exam.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Review: The is a great book to start with. But you still will need other material to help you pass the exam. Just for the integrity of the Securtiy + cert, I'm not going to give you the other book I study from. If I do that then everybody will pass the test, and that's not good for me. Sorry
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I'll tell you why this book is simply the BEST!! Review: This book is simply outstanding, and in a world of get 'em out there quick books, this one is a relief. First off, I settled on this book because unlike most of the other ones out there, this book was actually written after the real exam went live. Therefore, the authors had a chance to actually examine the REAL exam before writing the book. I see a reviewer left a bad review claiming he is an experience security engineer -- well then he should be embarrassed for failing. A beginner reading this book will pass the exam, and surely an experienced person will! The book's format is great (yes I ACTUALLY read the book) -- the 15 chapters are logically organized, and the Exam Alerts are so valuable as you better believe this will be covered on your test. While some books may come close in content, none come close to the quality of the questions. Not only do you get Q&A at the end of each chapter, plus you get two tests at the end, PLUS tests on the CD! And at the last minute, this book comes with a useful glossary and cram tear out sheet of important last minute cram facts. Finally, this is one of the best-edited tech books I have yet to read. I assure you that you can read this book and confidently pass your exam. This book has a great name tied to it "Exam Cram", and experienced authors and editors. It is simply a fantastic book. Welcome to the Security+ certified community!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A Very Book. Review: This book is WAY to easy on the person trying to pass their Security+ test!! It doesn't cover with the detail needed to pass the test. It does not provide the necessary (enough) information about the difficulty of the test. Nor does it give the reader a sense of what to expect. I failed the test once. This is the book I purchased after failing. Within reading seven chapters I simply put the book down because I could tell simply by reading it that it didn't cover things like they needed to be covered to pass the test. Listen up folks this is by far the HARDEST CompTIA test I have ever taken. In my opinion A+ and Net+ are a easy as pie and are basic entry lvl exams need only to grade first year IT persons. If you expect the CompTIA Security+ exam to be the same (as A+, Net+) and because you read this book you just might think so. Well your in for a surprise. Erik A+, Net+, Security+, soon to be MCSA.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Exam Focused Review: This book truly helped me prepare for the Security+ Exam. The information is well presented and thorough. This book truly holds to its promise by staying focused on what you need for the exam. If you read this book and feel lost, try a larger study guide to fill in the holes because this book stays focused on what you need for the Security+ exam.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Great Book - No Pass Review: This is a great book and it is very informative. It is a great suplament to any study course for the Security+ test. I read this book in conjunction with the SSCP book from Syngress publishing and the CISSP book by McGraw Hill in addition to using the Transcender Test. I can assure you that this still does not cover evnough of what is on the Security+ exam.
