Summary: Missing Steps
Review: The subtitle of this book should be A Step-by ... Guide. The chapters methodically detail the steps in creating the BW objects, with ample use of screenshots. However, some steps are neglected, and then data that you haven't entered is refered to in later steps. The data is easily entered by backing up and repeating the steps you've done in the previous sections and making up sample data, but there's no way that anyone followed the steps as written successfully. Poor QA here. That said, for someone looking for a book that will help them get a sample cube and queries running quickly, this is the book.

Summary: Great Book for Begginers !
Review: This book is great since all the step by step instruction is accurate. This book is for SAP consultants who have little knowledge of SAP-BW concepts and would like become a SAP-BW expert. The only thing that I saw lacking is for Business Explorer query options. There are very few examples for Business Explorer. But however, I think if you play with the GUI this problem is overcome easily. THIS BOOK IS WORTH IT !!!

Summary: Best overview of BW hands-on tasks
Review: With this book, you can seat down in front of the terminal and begin using BW right away. On the other hand, you better have some experience building Data Warehouses prior to using BW. There might be 2 or 3 ways to build a business solution and this book is not necessarily a good source for "best practices" or architecture concepts. A good book that could complement this one is "Mastering the SAP Business Information Warehouse".
