Summary: Makes complex concepts easy to understand
Review: This book is a necessary addition to any Bryce'ers bookshelf. Throw away the manual - buy this book! Susan and Victor have a gift for presenting complex software issues in an understandable way. And the use of movies on the CD to show changes as software settings change on a scene is inspired. The only problem is my lack of sleep from staying up nights reading it - but that is a small price to pay for the joy of building worlds!

Summary: 1000+ pages of gold
Review: This book is amazing. It incorporates all aspects of the Bryce experience including terrain, sky, rainbows, haze, lighting, lattices, and more. I have Bryce 5, but this is still a great companion. Metaballs and trees (the big differences from 4 to 5) are pretty self-explanatory. If you're thinking about getting this..

STOP!!!!

Just get it.

Review: THIS BOOK IS THE EPITOME OF TEXT BOOKS FOR WHAT APPEARED TO BE A DIFFICULT INTERFACE TO TACKLE. SHORTLY AFTER READING THE FIRST
TWENTY OR SO PAGES I BECAME AWARE THAT I WAS FINALLY GETTING THE HANG OF THIS JOURNEY. THE CONCEPTS ARE WELL THOUGHT OUT AND THE PROCESSES OF DELIVERY MAKE IT VERY EASY TO ASORBE THE INFORMATION YOU'LL NEED.

Summary: Horrific and weak...too bad it's the only Bryce book
Review: This has always been a terrible book (I purchased the Bryce 2 version, you would think I had learned my lesson). This "update" contains loads of the exact same info you'll find in the 2.0 book. Many of the new features aren't even covered. Bryce is an excellent product, but this book doesn't even come close to delving into the complexities of creating real world 3D landscapes.

Summary: Excellent Content Lousy Binding
Review: This is a must have book for any Bryce User. It contains absolutly everything you could possibly want to know with plenty of illustrations and examples.
I gave it 4 stars only because the binding is not that great. For a reference book that is so heavily used it needs a much better binding.

Summary: Exellent Book ... its a bible!
Review: This is a wealth of information and the content is applicable to new users who want to improve their skills or old-timers who want to add to their skills or have a great reference.

As far as third-party books about software goes, this book is well worth the purchase.

As far as reviews go, if you use Bryce then this book is your next purchase. I can't imagine anyone who loves the software would not find this the only book they need in order to get the best results with Bryce.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This is an excellent book. It includes tons of instructions and tips. Well organized and easy to understand. Before I purchased this book, I was playing around with Bryce. Now I'm creating. A must have book for all Bryce users including Bryce 5 since it is just a minor upgrade to version 4. Get this book.

Summary: forget the manual, buy this book
Review: Wow! I've had bryce for about a year, and only had tepid appreciation for it. The book brings to light a ton of stuff I didn't know. Just leafing through it is fun. It has a ton of color plates (a must for me when it comes to computer graphics books); I don't know how they managed to keep it under fifty-five dollars.

It has the best quality of a companion book: open it anywhere, start reading and learning something interesting. Want a Bryce book? this is the one.
