Summary: SAVE YOUR MONEY, THIS CAT CAN't WRITE FOR HIS LIFE
Review: THis book is a waste of money, dont buy it, you get lost after like 8 days.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: perfect book for beginers
Review: Im a computer science major who's looking for a good beginers books for c++ programing. I find this book very easy to understand, compared to my other book. This should have been my first book. Now, if only i can find a good visual C++ book...

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great Book, Bad Software
Review: The book and lessons are all that I had hoped for and expected and I am quickly advancing in knowledge and confidence, but... As a beginner I was aggravated at the level of experience necessary to debug the DJGPP compiler included in the "Complete Compiler Edition". I thought it was unconscionable to expect a beginning programmer to be an expert in compilers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good for novices, not quite for total beginners
Review: The first 1/3 of the book is pretty easy to understand, but about day 9 topics come up which are probably a little difficult for beginners to understand. Still, a great book even though it might take a little over 21 days to get through it.

Summary: If you are a beginner- don't buy this book!
Review: I bought this book hoping to learn the basics of C++ in 21 days.So far it has been 3 months and it only takes me to look at it for any ambition for programming to totally evaporize from me.The book is ok till chapter 6 or 7 and if you are a beginner reading on will make you look stupid in your own eyes no matter how clever and intellegent you are.By the end of the book I promise you will look for a different programming language.Although the book doesn't say it ,it is DEFINATELLY NOT FOR BEGINNERS!If your son bugs you to buy him a book to learn how to programm and you want him to be something else- buy him C++ in 21 days I think you will be satisfied with the results,

Summary: Buy a different book
Review: This book starts out fine. It seems really easy until about day 7 or 8, then it all changes. You keep reading on, but understand very little. Things start to build on poorly taught sections, and before you know it. . . BOOM! C++ is not really that hard. Get a better book and learn it right.

Summary: Need to learn C++? Buy this book (3rd edition)!!!
Review: I started programming when I was about 12 (ah good old q-basic) and eventually developed to Visual Basic. I felt somewhat hald back by this program and decided to venture further. I started by buying C++ Unleashed by the same author. I didn't understand a word of it, then read the blurb at the front saying that I needed to read a primer such as Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days. I went and bought the third edition of this book and was determined to read on. After a venturous 25 odd days I completed this book then moved onto the other. I am currently 15 years old. Jesse Liberty explains most (I say most with reason) topics covered in this book concisely. Some errors but a hell of an improvement from the 2nd edition

Summary: Fantastic book for beginners
Review: This book explains all usual aspects of C++ in a clear, structered manner. It makes the C++ language (which is fairly difficult to begin with) accessible for everybody who is interested. This is a really great basis to start with C++: it gives you all the concepts you need to make a very nice start in the programming language, enough detail but not too much. If you want more detail, after reading this book you'll have enough knowledge to enter some more advanced books. If you're beginning C++, this is your book, absolutely!

Summary: This book will scare you away from C++ forever !!!
Review: I bought this book along with the Borland C++ complier in one package. As you do, I was dreaming that I could program C++ in 21 days... However, I think the author missed a zero or two after the number 21 (which actually is 210 days or 2100 days...)

this book led me into a world of confusing, I lost my confidence right after the first 100 pages. I decided... This C++ language is for the genius or super-intelligents only...

I dropped the goal of C++ programing for a year. Then one day, I went to the Amazon Website and saw comments about the book named "The Beginner's Guide to C++" of Oleg Yaroshenko (5 stars). I decided to buy it. This book brought me back my confidence. I agree with readers who gave this a 5 stars rating.

One more comment about the Borland's C++ complier which goes along with the "C++ in 2100 days" book. DON'T BUY IT, because you can get no manual, and no support at all from Sam's Publisher. I installed it in my computer. Unfortunately, every time I wrote a program which need to input a Float variable, the complier stopped with the error message that says "Square root of a negative number"... I contacted Sam's Pub. many times to be answered by their auto answering webpage. Now, my Borland's complier is still a crippled software.

I feel I need to write this review as a way to say thanks to those who wrote the reviews about "The Beginner's Guide to C++", which gave me back my confidence.

Summary: Why I received an 'A' in Intro. to Programming...
Review: I purchased this book through Amazon.com because I thought it would help me get through my Introduction to Programming class. Guess what? I received an 'A' in that class!

This text is written very beautifully and takes you through the language step by step. From the minute to the extreme, this book helps those of us with no programming experience become stable in the C++ language.

I highly recommend this book to anyone beginning their journey towards programming competency.
