Summary: Interesting, but more academic than practical
Review: This is the best book available on the implementation of data structures in functional programming languages (e.g. ML, Haskell). Unfortunately, much of the book covers esoteric data structures that will almost never be needed in practice. Hash tables are a major omission, likely because they don't fit well into a functional environment.
