Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Ease of Use Review: The easy way the author wrote the book helped me considerably. I work as a help desk rep so I don't get much of a chance to actually work with network servers hands on. I read this book front to back and made sure I was in the 90's when doing the practice test questions that were in the book and on the CD-ROM that came with thembook. Study the exam objectives and learn the content of the questions and not just the answers and you should do well on the test.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I just had to comment Review: I passed the exam Oct 3rd, and did very well. That is why I gave this book 5 stars, It helped me pass, and that makes me happy, and that is what counts!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It does the job Review: The Server+ exam is a tough one for sure. You will need a good text book to study from but also some hands on experience will help. The only reason I purchased this book was because of the great reviews it has been receiving. This book does the job if your interested in passing the Server+ exam and you do not have tons of hands on experience. This book strictly focuses on the actual exam, that is why I believe it is so popular for just a text book. You don't have to be a technical geek to understand the concepts in this book. You can tell the Server+ Certification Bible was written with the reader in mind. You don't have to have years of server experience to pass this exam just a good text book that focuses strictly on the topics needed to pass. I'm happy with it because it helped me pass the exam and I just wanted everyone to know :)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If you didn't pass, it was your own fault Review: If you didn't pass the Server+ exam by using this book as your study resource, it was your own fault. I have been in the computer field for 6 months now. I started my career with the A+ certification and then followed up with the Network+ certification. It was only logical to go for the Server+ certification next. I do not have a lot of practical hands on server experience so I really needed a top notch study guide to get me through. This book actually delivered, and I passed this exam with only 6 months computer experience and not with the 2 years experience CompTIA wants you to have before taking this exam. The key is to understand each topic and how to perform each task. It is not that hard if you use a little bit of your brain and memorization skills. The rest of the exam is common sense. This book points you in the right direction on what to learn for the exam and does it perfectly. What else do you need???
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best one around! Review: The Server+ Certification Bible is just that. It is the Bible of the Server+ Exam. Do not be fooled by the other books out there. This book has the best information available about the exam and does not cut any corners. I have no idea how anyone cannot pass by using this book. It is straight forward and the only book you need. This was the only book I used for the exam and I passed with a score in the 90's! I teach and used this book with a group of 8 students and they all passed as well. I was just impressed that I was able to use only one book as a resource for this exam.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Get Certified Review: This book definitely helped me pass the Server+ exam. This book was really well organized and provided great explanations and tips on what to know for the exam. The only other study material I used was free practice tests I found on the web, but I found the questions in this book were better. It is a tricky exam so make sure you study hard and understand each section in the book. Once you have mastered the sample questions in this book you will do fine on the exam.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: OK book - worthless CD - goofy test Review: My background: A+, Network +, MCP (4 core 2000 exams passed) Associate DCSE, 1 year experience (Data Center, small companies). This book is a decent resource for the Server+ exam. I like the author's straight forward style (especially compared to Ron Gilster). It also has a good amount of information you can use for the exam, and as a resource after the exam on the objectives you test on. As will be noted later, this book will not be enough for most people. The CD-Rom is a waste of time, and is of no value at all as a resource to help you prepare for the test. Don't bother even using it once. For this reason alone, I take off one star. The problem I have is one I am sure others will detail when this exam starts being taken by more people. The Server+ exam is goofy, poorly written, and very SUBJECTIVE. For example, one question is along the lines of "what is more important when evaluating a room for hosting servers - ESD or the type of walls installed." Depending on your situation it might be both. How can you say one is more important than another. With one year of experience on Servers and three MCSE core exam passes under my belt, I took the test thinking that it would be a nice compliment to my MCSE. After reading this book, doing the practice exercises on CD, and using the corresponding Server+ "Test Yourself" book, I got a 56/80, for 70%. Not bad, but 60/80 for 75% is required for passing. OK, I had a death in my family recently, maybe I did not retain as much as I thought, or just had a bad day. Since I have enjoyed the value of information from Transcenders for the MCSE core exams, I purchased the Transcender Server+ CD. Got some good tidbits of information that were not in Trevor Kay's book, passed the practice test with flying colors. Took the Server+ exam again. Once again, failed, with another 56/80 correct, for 70%. Many new questions I had never seen before, and once again in the COMPTIA tradition, poorly worded subjective questions that two very qualified people could answer differently, depending on their respective situations. I am going to go back and focus on my MCSE exams for now, as I feel very angry at COMPTIA about the quality of this exam. I can accept my limits, and work daily to improve my knowledge. I now seriously question the value of time and money one might take to pass this poorly written exam.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Book Review: Yes the book had a lot of grammar errors but it was easy to read and packed with alot of info. The bottom line is it helped me pass with a 91. The test CD was not good but there are plenty of books that do not come with a great testing CD. There were some errors but I would still recommend this book to anyone who was getting ready for the test or for just working knowledge of servers.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A reader Review: I am "a reader" because I want to be! I must say the Server+ exam is not easy. Fortunately I passed with a 90! This book was laid out really good. I liked the way the author had the actual objective(s) for each section of the exam present within the text to show "the reader" what exactly he/she is learning. I wish there were more study guides out by this author. I hope there will be more titles by this author in the future.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Super book Review: I thought this book was super compared to the other ones. I passed the first time by just using this book and the online study notes. I think that should say it all. At [price] a pop for these exams I wanted to pass the first time...and I did. Great stuff.....thank you!
