Summary: Too Many Typos
Review: While the information was informative, there were so many typo errors. It was as if the book was in a rushed to be published. I found the errors distracting because I had to go back and read certain parts over and over again. I also just came from taking the test. I scored a 73%. I needed a 75%. There were about 8 questions on the test the book did not cover; and I read the whole book - some sections twice. I felt the practice exam was not a good representation of the type and quality of the questions that the exam ask. However, I do feel that this book provided some learning benefit.

Summary: Highly Recommend from a lot of people
Review: I have been hearing great thing about this book from a lot of different people who used it to study from and pass the Server+ exam. I have to agree, this book is book is well organized and easy to read. I was mostly impressed with the layout of the book. I liked how the author has the exam objectives laid out throughout the book so you know what you are studying. The review questions are simulated identically to actual exam test questions. The book comes with a CD-ROM full of practice test questions and free Server/network monitoring tools. I recommend this book to everyone who is interested in achieving his or her Server+ certification or to anyone interested in Network server operations.

Summary: Good material/ Bad exam prep tool
Review: I studied the material front to end. Aced every test on the book's attached test engine. However, I failed the Server+ exam on February 2004. I was confident by passing the book's sample tests (averaged 90+) would prepare me for the test. WRONG! The material is good but the actual test is very tough and the attachged test engine does not prepare you for the test!!! I will now try a different book and test engine to prepare to take the Server+ exam once again. Someone suggested Mike Myer's Server+ and Exam Cram...

Summary: The best Server+ prep book currently
Review: After seeing all the recommendations for this book, I knew I had to check it out. I was not disappointed with this book as it constituted the bulk of my Server+ study diet. Kay writes this book in an easy style allowing the reader to digest easily and quickly move through the book. His SCSI, RAID, troubleshooting and disaster recovery chapters were well done, though more diagrams throughout the book would have been appreciated. As it stands however, this is a quality book. The included CD has a good test engine, but a word of caution...the questions on the whole do not compare to the toughness of the actual Server+ exam. I was able to pass with an 81 with 75 being the minimum pass mark. I would recommend picking up one other book to supplement Kay's offering to flesh out your studies.

Summary: Excellent study guide!
Review: I passed the Server+ Exam By using this Book alone, this book so easy to read and is full of excellent questions that prepared me to pass the exam. It was well-organized and easy to understand. Out of all the other Server+ books I have looked at this one
was by far the best. Check it out, you will see what I mean. This book has a different approach for the reader to learn the material and to make it fun to read and not boring. I was also impressed that it had all the Server+ objectives covered in full and marked out in the text. For example if you look at page 129, the CompTIA Server+ objective is: "Perform shut down across the following OS: Microsoft Windows NT/2000, Novell Netware, UNIX, Linux, IBM OS/2. You will see right below the objective the proper procedures on how to perform this task across all these operating systems. And yes, I was asked a few questions on the real exam on this topic. I loved the way this book is structured, and I think it's awesome! This is the best study guide I have ever had. I hope to see more great study guides like this from the same author.

Summary: If you only buy one book - make it this one.
Review: This book is excellent... I read all the reviews and chose this book based on what I read. Everything was right on. BUY IT.

Summary: GREAT Server+ Book!!
Review: This book provides you with all the knowledge you need to sucessfully pass the Server + Exam. It describes all the exam topics in a easy and clearly understandable manner.

I can highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to pass the Server + Exam and strengthen your server administration skills.

Also, the Assessment Questions in this book are similar to those on the real Server + Exam. So this book is very Exam related.

Summary: Get Coriolis
Review: I am Network+, i-Net+, and A+ certified and had previously used Coriolis books on the exam. It lacks any sort of proofreading, and even some of the questions in the book and the CD are wrong after I had to lookup answers to make sure. There are erroneous spelling and technical mistakes. I thought I would give Mr. Kay a try....don't be an idiot like me, DO NOT GET THIS BOOK. Stick with Coriolis or Sybex.

Summary: Best of the bunch!
Review: Alot of information cut into small bite sized pieces. The best of the study guides!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Server+ guide
Review: The Server+ bible does indeed seem to live up to all the other reviews written about it. It covers all the material clearly and has a large number of practice questions to make sure you understand it all. HOWEVER, my feeling is that after passing A+ and Network+ at least 80% of this exam covers information you should already know. Due to that, this book might have "seemed" to do a better job than it really would if I had little or no computer background.
