Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unleashed or perhaps on a Leash
Review: This book has aided in getting the grip I truly need on RedHat to get it setup and also to maintain it. With sections on nearly every major thing tied with RedHat Linux, this book not only gave me information but also pointed me in the right direction for more information.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: this is not a well organized book
Review: They just try to put all the articles about linux into this book.... bad organization

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent resource for newbies to advanced Linux users.
Review: This book is one of the very few Linux books I look through on a daily basis, to understand concepts and configuration syntax.

The books covers everything from the actual installation of the product, to configuring peripherals, in an extremely organized manner.

This is a MUST have book for anyone who is a newbie to an advanced user of Red Hat Linux 5.2.

Summary: Definitely not for "newbies"
Review: I like the chapters covering programming languages such as python, perl and Tcl/tck. However it was frustrating and very difficult to follow; it assumes a lot of knowledge on the user's part and jumps around on specific instructions--to tell you the truth the book was a waste of money. Red Hat really needs to tailor their documentation to the "complete idiot" (oh well, I guess I qualify).

Summary: Wanna Learn Linux In One Book?..
Review: I found this book very helpful and was able to find descriptive information to setting up my Linux box. I have many Linux books, but this book tops them all. It's a "must have" for those intereseted in RH. No need to waste your money buying extra books, this book has it all!

Summary: great book, heh heh
Review: buy it or burn

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not for everyone, but very useful
Review: This book is not for the ultra beginner or the super advanced hacker. Hence the difficulty level of Intermediate-Advanced. Do not just buy this book if you are unfamiliar to Linux. Buy an intro, and this will probably fill in the holes the into book left out...at least that's what I did.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Advanced reference, maybe; Beginners beware.
Review: I am new to Linux and I bought this book to compliment my 5.2 server. However, I was deeply dissapointed that there is nothing in the book for beginners. However, I'm sure after I read other beginners books, that it will come in handy. There is information on Apache, networking, and other advanced topics, but as far as commands, beginning instructions, and other topics for the new user, I'd go with something else.

Summary: GET THIS!
Review: First of all, note that the RH version the book provides is 5.2 NOT 5.1.

This book is excellent, providing an in depth reference into Red Hat Linux, and being that it is the only book to currently support 5.2, makes it the newest. It also makes a great book to learn off of. However, this book, while the rating is Intermediate to Advance, is pretty close to starting at a beginner's level, especially if you already know what Linux is, and know the basic commands.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very comprehensive, but sometimes too much detail is given
Review: It is one of the better books released about RHLinux 5.1, in my opinion it is a great book to learn the do's and don'ts of RHL. However it sometimes gives too much detail on the basics and not enough on system administration or linux for programmers
