Rating: Summary: If you want to pass, get this book. Review: I just passed my A+ OS test yesterday. This book covers everything you need to know. I own 5 different A+ books and this is the one that made the difference.
Rating: Summary: I passed the exam with ease after reading this book Review: After reading this book, I scored an 875 on the OS Technologies exam and a 993 on the Core Technologies exam. I did run in to a couple questions on the exam that were not in the book, but you should be able to pass this exam with no problem after reading and understanding this book. It also mixes in humor, which is very welcome! Thank you, Mr. Meyers!
Rating: Summary: The best A+ Cert book I know of. Review: I have 3 other books, but this is the one that really helped me. It was easy to understand & the content is extrodinary. I will definetly purchase the Server+ & Network+ books.
Rating: Summary: great for someone who has never worked on a CPU Review: I used this book as my main study resource for the exam and i was shocked when i took the exam because of questions the book didn't even touch on. The book is full of corny jokes and advertising plugs. The analogies used are not the strongest. The diagrams are also very weak. I would recommend this book to someone who has never worked on a computer.
Rating: Summary: I cleared it with 804 on Core and 836 on OS Thank you Mike! Review: #Well to begin with ... the book covers 8 out of 10 question from the A+ exam directly or indirectly. #Remember one thing the current exam number is 220-221 and 220-222, and the book covers it alot of books available are for 220-201 and 220-202(old). #The Book is written for humans who are looking to enter into IT industry not for technical nerds(ie. it is simple and funny) #The book includes a simulation of the real adaptive test. #Make sure to take the test with the book on the cdrom over and over again as it changes every time you take it. #The books gives you hardworking Mike's personal hardware experience put together with a lot of hard effort. #When you read the book make sure that you read each and every word. #Most of the questions that came were from the book, but the content was put too casually
Rating: Summary: Throrough, but too thorough? Review: This book will take you head first into the world of A+ Certification. The book will tell you everything that you need to know about A+ Certification and then some. That's perhaps where the problem comes in. The book gives a lot of admittedly unnecessary information. All of this information is good though for an A+ Certified Technician to know and really makes you look like you know what you're talking about. The book is very high quality, includes many pictures and examples. As a result of this book I am now A+ Certified. Although I think the book has too much information I recommend it to anyone looking for a good study tool for the two exams that make A+ certification. The author has a unique sense of humor that makes studying a little more enjoyable than it normally would be.
Rating: Summary: All You Need for Certification Success Review: I implement this textbook in my A+ Certification Course at Miller-Motte Technical College [North Carolina]. The material is presented in an easy to follow outline and contains many photos [can never have enough of those darn things]. Each chapter is broken down based on "Historical/Conceptual" and "Test Specific" areas, making it clear "what has been" and "what is". Although my students range from little to advanced A+ knowledge...no fear, this book has something for all of them. My students'pass rates [for both the Hardware and OS Certifications] have been outstanding...something to praise the author for!
Rating: Summary: Best "A+" &" Windows 2000 OS in general Review: Michael Meyer is simply the best... reading his book is fun & at the same time very comprehensive & easy to absorb. I am an IT lecturer, and highly recommend his books to ALL...plse note "ALL!!!" ma students. For a very technical subject, this book is NOT boring at all...HONESTLY I'M ADDICTED TO HIS BOOKS EVERSINCE I BOUGHT THE A + 4TH VERSION ("LATER I INCLUDED HIS NETWORK+ TO MY COLLECTION) KEEP IT UP MIKE YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!!! BECAUSE OF YOU...ALL MY STUDENTS REALLY LOVE THE WAY I TAUGHT...
Rating: Summary: A+ Certification Review: Michael Meyers book All In One A+ Certification is the perfect book to use to study for the A+ exam it's straight foward and is easy for those of you who may not be able to understand the technical mumbo jumbo that you would read in other books.I passed both exams with just that one book and now I am currently working on my Network+ and yes I am using Mike Meyers All In One Network+ and I would rate that a 4 right now only because I haven't finnished reading it yet but i'm sure it will also rank to be a 5 star book also. PS and the best thing of all is if you have any questions and you email Mike Meyers, you can bet your book that he will respond with in 24 hours. Thanx Mike
Rating: Summary: Solid Coverage of Computers in General Review: This book is long so beware, but one thing is for sure: I know a lot more about computers than I used to know. Whether you are trying to pass the A+ certification exam or not, this book is great to get a better understanding of how computers work, what hardware changes have been made, etc... It tells you all the specifics with practice questions at the end of each chapter. The book takes some time to read, but it is a good read. Some sections are confusing, but those are difficult topics to understand anyway. If you want to learn, this is the book for you. If you just want to pass the test, you may consider getting a shorter and more test intensive book. Overall though, he writes a great book.
