Summary: karan
Review: Extremely good book. I am a java programmer and this book was very helpful in understanding the C# language. Each topic is treated very thoroughly. Using the class library reference from msdn is my recommendation while using this book. If you want to learn the C# language, i would definitely recommend this book.

Summary: Exellent Book
Review: I don't agree that the authors used too many words. Each topic is covered clearly and succinctly. The reason the book is large is that it covers a huge amount of information (look at the table of contents). It is easy to read because the style is that of a person explaining the important points rather than a rehash of a manual. It gives insight and perspective not just facts. Lastly, there is no need to read the book cover to cover. I started with appendix A and B, then read the first 3 chapters and then skipped to the ADO.NET and ASP.NET sections.

Summary: Disappointing C# Reference
Review: I have found this book to be a very disappointing C# reference. The scope of the book is very large, but it doesn't seem to give adequate coverage of much of anything. Time and again I have gone to this book looking for a specific piece of information only to be disappointed. Other sections of the book are very poorly written. For example, in the section on exception handling, they state correctly that exceptions shouldn't be used to break out of for or while loops, and then proceed with an example that does just that. I think the author's could have invested a little more time and effort in coming up with a better example of using exceptions. Instead of buying this book, you're much better off saving your money and just using the MSDN documentation pages.

Summary: Good book
Review: I have only reached the 250 pages on this book, I woould say this is by far the best C# book that I own. I do agree that the book is verbose. Most important thing is that the subject matter is covered extensively.

Review: I learnt a lot from the book that I cannot get from other books.
Thanks, Simon.

Summary: 1200 pages for the topics covered
Review: The authors of this book must get paid by the word. They will write 50 words where only 10 are required(I have other Wrox Books with the same problem). The breadth of coverage is good, but its unusable due to the amount of reading it takes to get the information. If this book were 500 pages with the same coverage it would be a 4.5 star book.

Summary: One of the best
Review: The coverage of this book is excellent! You can hardly find a book that offers such a rich coverage of knowledge about how to code everything in windows envoriment, windows services, active directory, Registry. As experienced programmers, I and my coworker got a lot out of this book. It is my bible for us to learn new things that we didn't know, such as windows services and active directory. I really admire the authors's wide spectrum of knowledge of MS products, and sincertely appreciate it for their willing to share with us. The book is worth every penny its price.
