Rating: Summary: Rizzo excels Review: Thomas Rizzo has a very unique ability of explaining the intricate details of a technology with understandable English. His book is the most complete and comprehensive resource available to Exchange and Outlook developers. Highly recommended for all messaging specialists, especially the ones interested in Exchange Server programming.
Rating: Summary: Out Of Date!! Review: Time moves on and I just purchased this book. Usually MSPRESS books are pretty good, but this one is the pits (Sorry Thomas). Why, becuase time has moved on the there are NO updates for how systems are today. The sample code does not work for starters. Like so many of the books on the market today, you are basically paying for paper and ink and not the knowledge that should be gained. Two thumbs down.
Rating: Summary: Invaluable resource Review: Tom does everything he promises, and then some. Granted, touching on Outlook, CDO, CDO Rendering, ASP, ADSI, event scripting, routing objects, and COM Add-ins is a lot for one book, leaving some gaps, you can get 75% of what you need for 99% of Exchange/Outlook solutions from this book. Well done.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reference for Outlook/Exchange Programmers Review: When I first picked up this book, I'd thought it be like all the other technical books I've bought. . . a lot of fluff and very little meat. Well, was I in for a surprise. Not only are all the Outlook and Exchange technologies covered in-depth but the book also dives into newer technologies such as Outlook 2000 and all of its programming features. I was surprised to find a number of extra chapters on the CD as well!
