Summary: Pretty Good Book.
Review: I started programming with this book 3 years ago and it has helped me a great deal. Every C programmer needs this book as a reference. The only problem I had with it was that it did not cover some of the more advanced topics in enough detail but other than that its a great book. than that I highly recommend it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great buy, Great for my library
Review: This book is great for helping, So many parts of the language can be tricky to someone just learning it. But this book is great for referencing those tricky parts.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A worthy addition on your bookshelf.
Review: For those trying to learn C this is a must have book. Audience should have a basic understanding of computers though before delving into this book. A rather complete book in C considering a lean ~250 pages. More emphasis on some subtle important points would be welcome. Answering the exercises would help to make you a C or a better C programmer.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Greatest Book of All Time on C!
Review: Despite the fact that this book is eleven years old it is still the BEST book on programming in C and will always be. It explains every part of a program clearly. But I would recommend taking a class in programming before reading this book.

Summary: The Greatest Programming Book of All Time . . .
Review: I read this book a year ago, when I was 13, as my first exposure to programming. All I can say is wonderful!!! This book has taught me the entire C Programming Language, just as the title says. After reading this book, you will know everything, and what you don't know can be easily looked up in a book such as the equally excellent C Reference Manual. Right now I know C, C++, and Visual Basic; I don't think I could have learned anything if I hadn't bought this book.

If you're planning on buying this book as your first, beware that it's kind of like concentrated orange juice; don't expect to finish it in just a few sittings. I myself took about 2 weeks to finish the book; I think that after every chapter you should spend some time testing out your newfound skills.

Summary: A very good book !!!
Review: I used this book in my studies. This book is for beginners, who make their first step with the C language.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The one C book everyone should have
Review: I learned C using this book as my reference in college. I still use it for the occasional C program I have to write to brush up on things like pointers. The book explains everything as clearly as it can be explained. The only books that I have found that are equal to this for clarity are 'Thinking in C++' and 'Thinking in Java' by Bruce Eckel.

Summary: Excellent programming resource
Review: The book is concise and at times a little short on examples. But it is a reference more than a "teach yourself" guide (although an excellent teaching reference when you have real teacher or guide to "fill in the blanks of real use"). The "function library" sections at the end are indispensible when you want to quickly (well under minute, usually, for me) find the return codes and argument types for a function (and what functions exist!) without being forced to read through 20 pages of textual description of the functions just to get to the scattered pieces of required knowledge.

Well worth the money!

Summary: Buy the paperback ...
Review: This book is an absolute must for C programmers. "K&R" is the best book to learn the language, as well as the ultimate reference manual around. You may need the hardcover because of the number of times you'll reach for the book to look something up, but for the common student/worker, the paperback is more than enough. The best C book around, without any question.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A MUST BUY!
Review: Can't believe there's only a few reviews for this book. "K&R" is *the* book for C programmers. Not only useful in learning the language, but also a a handy reference. Only complaint would be the price (it's a thin book), but it's worth every penny of it.
