Summary: A TAYLOR MADE BOOK
Review: Finally my book have arrived after 13 days of wait!
It was worthwile to wait for "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers".
It is not a book to teach digital photography or to explain every aspects of the Photoshop software. What the book does is to actually give the settings to use for every problem one find on the day to day.
The book is for people "going digital" and who may not know anything about Photoshop, so, the author spell things like "Go under the Image menu, under Adjustments and choose Curves".
Excellent value for money.
Last, but not least, the plain-English used by the author and his sense of humor turn the things easier to understand for a Brazilian like me.

Summary: The curve tutorial was worth the price of this book to me
Review: If you have [$$] that's just burning a hole in your pocket, spend it on this Photoshop book.
I think I have about 20 Photoshop book in my collection, but this is by far the best one I have ever bought.
Very easy to understand ( very little of that technical junk) just step by step examples for digital camera junkies.
I always have struggled understanding how to use "curves" in Photoshop, but this book explained it perfect.
The curve tutorial was worth the price of the book to me......

Review: Just received this incredible book. From the wonderful acknowledgement page I knew this was going to be different. This is what all digital photographer's who use Photoshop have been waiting for. Scott's witty style of pacing you through the steps makes it so easy. Well written, well conceived. Covers all the issues that a digital photographer new or seasoned to the game could ask for. Scott Kelby has the style that makes you go WOW.... that was easy enough. Plenty of tips for the pros. Covers all the best of Photoshop 7 plus the new Adobe's Camera RAW plug-in. From organizing your work to photo touch-up to preparing your work for presentation to special effects this book has it all. Scott Kelby has written so many great books on Photoshop and to me this tops the list. This book will be well worn in no time. Review: Finally, a REAL book for digital photographers. This Photoshop book takes the guess work out of managing your digital images. While many Photoshop books talk about techniques and touch on digital imaging, no book has hit the nail on the head better than The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers.

Summary: A great book with great images
Review: I've looked at many Photoshop books that were supposed to be aimed at digital photographers, but they all spent too much time discussing what camera to buy, etc. I already have a very good camera and wanted to know how to use Photoshop to address specific problems and techniques. This book does that extremely well! Full color images throughout and very clear instructions with a a nice touch of humor along the way. Just reading a few pages has already saved me time in fixing some images will a color cast.
I recommend this book without hesitation.

Summary: Nice practical book
Review: I have bought a number of photoshop books, and this is one of my favorites. It basically shows you how to do some specific tasks, such as color correction and other retouching techniques. The book takes you step by step through the process. People looking for books more akin to manuals will not like this book. I picked up a number of tips and am still working to incorporate his suggestions.

Summary: A good supplement to my handle-book's collection
Review: I don't believe in a kinda perfect book no matter what the last is about. When I hear from anybody that I have to buy some edition, just the only one and forget all the questions I had ever asked... well, thanks a lot there is outta my insight. It's too naive to take such a bait.
I can define myself like an advanced Photoshop user and have a strong confidence that if someone going to be familiar with PS, there is no way but to look for different methods to improve your skills. The "Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby is kind the method I have found really usefull for myself. Of course, content of some chapters was well known for me, but that hadn't grieved me because I had bought that book just for the rest chapters with all these tips I didn't know before. And it was worthwhile.
If you still hesitate between pros and cons just read the preface (in a form of conversation between author and Editor) and you'll figure out what you can obtain from this book and what is unidentified after you'll turn over the last page.

Summary: Solid introduction to basic, bad panorama coverage
Review: This is a very solid and well written introduction to the basics, from managing photos to doing simple color correction and touchups. The book is in full color and the examples are of regular people and average pictures that present the problems we have all come to know, and wish to fix, underexposure, overexposure, too much shadow, too little contrast, etc.

Overall I like the book but there are some rough spots. In particular, the coverage of panoramas could be better. The author admonishes you not to pay for panorama software, which he overshoots on the price, and then lays out a complex set of steps that will result in an average panorama that will likely have perspective problems if you take the shots too close. In addition there was more that could have been said about the RAW format, which is critical to getting the most out of your camera.

Still, even with the downsides, this is a good book for digital photographers.
