Rating: Summary: A Book for Un-Ambitious Users of Elements Review: This book covers about 10% of Elements' potential. You will outgorw this book within days of using Elements. For example, I've learned from reading other books (see bottom of this text) how powerful layers are, whereas this book barely covers thier application. I'd strongly recommend the following 2 excellent books "Photoshop Elements Solutions" by Mikkel Aaland (who occasionally appears on Tech TV), and "50 Fast Digitial Photo Techniques" by Gregory Georges. I have all 3 books, and I find Aaland and Geroges' books a world apart from Andrews' disappointing, beginner-level book (nothing personal). I've also heard very good things about the "WOW" series but I haven't read them personally. Have fun!
Rating: Summary: Adobe Photoshop Elements Review: This is a great book for introducing Photoshop Elements to the new user. Each section is simple to read, and is followed up by a feature summary, which I find particularly helpful. I just wish that all photo software book would better describe the relationship between pixels, resolution and photo size for the new user. This is a particularly tough concept to grasp. This author does explain that there is a difference in resolution among software, printers and scanners, which I never knew. A great feature of this book is that the author has a website from which you can learn even more and see even more about what he writes. This book is the best I've found for Elements. I hope he does a new edition for PE2.

Rating: Summary: Outstanding book Review: This is a great book for Photoshop beginners. The language is very clear and the practice exercises give the reader the opportunity to actually use the tools as move along. It also gives excellent descriptions (and identification) of all the available tools in Photoshop. I have several books on this subject, but none is as clear as this one. It has made all the difference as I am learning how to use the software. It is a MUST for beginners!
Rating: Summary: great book for those who never used photoshop before Review: Until reading Philip Andrews book, I was ready to give up using my Photoshop Elements imaging software, and go to a more user friendly (perhaps less comprehensive and useful) imaging software program. But, as a last try to "master" Photoshop Elements, I purchased Mr. Andrew's book. The difference in this book and the manual that is provided with Photoshop elements needs to be experienced to be really appreciated. Phillp Andrews teaches in such a clear, step by step manner that even the more complex aspects of Photoshop Elements are made understandable and fun/rewarding to use. An added and unexpected bonus is Mr. Andrew's sincere interest in working with his customers. I sent him an e-mail with a question regarding layers. He immediately responded with advice that provided an easy solution to my question. This book is "a must" for those who want to use their time to get the most from Element's powerful imaging tools while minimizing the compelxities of the learning processes.

Rating: Summary: Adobe Photoshop Elements Review: Want to learn Photoshop Elements and digital manipulation quickly and easily? This excellent book is the answer. After wasting money on a number of other books on the subject I found Philip Andrews book to be clear concise and straight to the point - complete with a dedicated website featuring images and projects from the book - it has everthing you need. It will prove to be a very useful as an ongoing reference book. You will not be disappointed with this book - great value at twice the price - I for one will be looking forward to further publications from the same author.
Rating: Summary: A Fantastic Book for Beginners Review: What a fantastic book for beginning Adobe Photoshop Elements users. It's thorough without being wordy, detailed without being overwhelming, covers all aspects of the software without losing you in the process. The color illustrations are incredibly helpful, and each topic covered progresses logically through the software. The paper quality is first-class, and the ability to download the exact image files that are illustrated in the book is extremely helpful. I've purchased several books on image editing software in general and Adobe Photoshop Elements in particular, but this is by far the best. If you're a beginner like me, you'll love this book. I highly recommend it!!
