Summary: Great Tutorials, Spotty Exercises
Review: I adopted this book for my AutoCAD course this year, and the results have been notable. Students take to the tutorial approach very well, and the Lockhart tutorials are nicely done.

However, assigning homeworks out of this book is somewhat difficult, as there are quite a few exercises with missing dimensions and geometry errors. We've had to adjust on the fly and hand out some supplements.

All in all a good book. I would hope Ms. Lockhart updates this format for ACAD 2000... and proofreads the exercises!

Summary: Good presentation, but has a few errors.
Review: I have used this, and previous editions in my AutoCAD classes. Unfortunately, I have to switch texts because Lockhart has not updated this book for release 2000.

The presentation is a bit weak in the area of drawing using surveyor measure, and ISOMETRIC drawing is omitted entirely. I use supplemental material for this. Many assignments have minor errors, and the chapter does not always proprly cover how to do the assignment. However, the sample problems are quite good and should interest the student.

This book is well organized and takes the reader from the very beginning through 3-D drawing. Presentation style is easy to read, and the size of the book is nice to handle.

Summary: Excellent tutorial for new users.
Review: My AutoCAD class is currently using this book as our textbook for the course. Being a beginning AutoCAD student, even at age 59, I find this book to be easy to use and understand. The downloadable templates that are provided with the textbook are superb.

Summary: I did not like the book too much!
Review: The book started out with pretty good but it lack of examples and a clear step by step instruction. This book might be good for people with previous experience with autocad.
