Summary: Find the good stuff quick
Review: I've seen some amazing stuff on the web, but it seems like I have to spend endless hours following random links to find some of the real gems. Shepter's book pointed me to some of the most amazing stuff I've seen. His profiles of the people that come up with these way-out designs add another dimension. If you dig finding cool stuff on the web, and wonder where it came from, and where it might go, you should check this book out.

Summary: How private webspace is utilized as a proving ground
Review: In Personal Web Sites, author Joe Shepter has compiled the first dedicated study of the role personal websites are playing in the phenomenal growth of the world wide web. Providing a critical examination of web designs showcasing the personal work of more than twenty-five of the top web designers at work today, the reader is provided with superb visuals, an insightful text, informed and informative interviews, and invaluable insights into how web designers get their inspirations. A highly recommended addition to personal and professional Computer Studies and Graphic Design reference collections and reading lists, Personal Web Sites also wonderfully illustrates how private webspace is utilized as a proving ground for future commercial projects.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Joe Shepter's book is uncommonly well-written, and is laid out in a manner that not only precisely illustrates the text but is also pleasing to the eye. I could not have chosen a better book as an introduction to what is out there on the web. Furthermore, Shepter's acerbic wit perfectly complements his subject, and he has a light and expert touch. A fantastic book, I highly recommend it for all!
