Review: This book spends too much time telling us obvious things like "take baby steps", "set obtainable goals" and "make a plan" and "write your plan down". This book would be better if the authors had spent more time actually discussing specific types of digital gear. It would have also been nice if they had discussed the gear they use, and how they converted their studio from film to digital. This book is just so THIN on meaningful content.

Summary: Book was Designed as a Digital Guide Not a PhotoShop Book!
Review: This book was designed to be a great "How To" book for helping people make the Digital Transition to Wedding Photography. This book was not designed to be an extensive Photo Shop book. It is a perfect step by step manual for purchasing the camera, learning file management, analyzing workflow steps and systems, and delivering a finished digital product and we have recieved a lot of positive feedback from readers. The gentlemen that responded to the album design section, must have missed the chapter that stated the clients pre-purchase their album prior to the wedding. The album design system is not a high pressured sales environment. We aren't selling albums, we are designing them. Using technology available today, will only make the process more convenient for the bridal couple. Our clients typically receive a finsihed album 6 weeks from the date of the wedding. Review: This book was very helpful in creating the steps and systems required for getting started in digital technology. Though it is not designed to be an advanced Photoshop book it gave the helpful information required to begin the transition. I found it very helpful and am excited about making the leap! It gave me just enough information to be confident and not overwhelmed!

The author discusses three types of photogs i.e. the traditional photog, photojournalists and a combination She advises couples to search the internet, attend bridal shows and follow-up on referrals. The work is a "must have". It will save you time and money. The planning for a wedding can be hectic. There are pressures. People tend to think emotionally with little room for reasoning. This work will focus your attention on the important planning horizons for accomplishing a successful wedding without spending too much money.

Summary: Album Design Strategy
Review: This response is to follow up to the previous review. The reader, obviously misinterpreted the methods used in the album design chapter. The method of designing an album in studio using Montage album design software, LCD projecting and the story telling concept of wedding album design is used not to create a high pressure sales environment. The client pre-purchases their album and pays for it prior to the wedding. We are designing at that point not selling. This concept is used to expedite the album design time, to make designing an album easier for your client and to create a story telling concept using the technology available today. Sending a client away with 500 plus images is not advantageous to anyone. It is overwhelming to your client. Thus the reason, it typically takes months for the customer to recieve the album. Our clients have a finished product 6 weeks from the date of the wedding! This process provides a higher level of customer service.

In my opinion the book hase very little to offer. If you want information about digital cameras, digital darkroom and related topics, look elswhere. You won' t find that information here.
Most of the book explains how to talk your customers into digital photography and how beneficial it is for them.
This is all right but where are the professional techniques for digital wedding photography. As another reviewer stated before, a chart with the houres of the day or the advise of not buying on credit dose not seem to fit in the professional techniques. Everything is so very superficial.
This of course are my personal opinions, but I was very disappointed from this book.
To the authors credit I have to say that the photographs are beautiful, but for me the book is a NO NO.
