Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not for Kids and Not "just a comic!"
Review: I picked this up because my school teacher wife is fascinated by this period. Both of us loved it. Shanower has taken the latest research on the Trojan War and made it into a "graphic novel." His art work is competent but not really splashy or ground-breaking, but his take on the causes for and outbreak of the war against Troy is pretty fascinating. He's apparently doing this as a comic book series (this is the first nine issues compiled) and I eagerly await the next batch. There's a little sex here -- hey the ancient Greeks were pretty sexy people ! -- so maybe you wont wantg this in the classroom below the seventh grade level. But it is a fine way to spend an evening if you want an orioginal and graphic take on this period in history.
