Ultimate X-Men (12 Issues)

Review: Ultimate X-Men is just that. This book collects the first twelve (!) issues of the Ultimate X-Men comic series, collecting The Tomorrow People and Return to Weapon X. The art is done by Adam and Andy Kubert (two of my favorite artists) and the story is by Mark Miller. It's basically taking a few of the X-Men and completely re-working their stories. The team we start out with is Cyclops (who's every bit the boy scout he's always been) Marvel Girl (who's got a short, punk rocker's 'do), Storm (who got thrown in jail for stealing cars), Beast (who's own mother won't even talk to him), and Colossus (who was a Russian arms trafficker). Their first mission is to save Bobby Drake from the sentinals. These two arcs are just amazing, and the writing is as breath-taking as the art. I highly recommend this to anyone.
