Summary: Dragonball in it's perfection
Review: A must have for every Dragonball fan out there. There is tons of things to read, literally. Besides having a world map, it also has a universe guide with information about other planets, and other rare locations are included. One of the best parts of this book is the fact that almost every item shown in the manga is included with a picture and a summary. Every weapon, vehicle, or any other miscellaneous item is included. This is wonderful to have in your collection just for the sheer amount of information provided. If you don't get this book now, you'll be kicking yourself in the future when it's no longer produced.

Summary: Tour the world of DB
Review: Dubbies (fans of North American DBZ), stay away from this. this is part of the 10 volume Daizenshyu set, books that, though mostly in Japanese, have become a resource for every great DBZ webmaster. There is little english to be found in these books, so hone your Japanese first.

Volume 4 is pretty big, and has all kind of info. This guide has a ton of maps, and Toriyama interview. It shows where EVERYTHING in the world of DB is.

All in all, a great set, and as long as you are a TRUE DBZ Otaku, buy all 7. Those who watch the english DBZ, though, be warned: These books are not for you.

Summary: A Whole New World
Review: Once again a fair warning- this book IS in Japanese, so don't expect an easy read. Though this is the smallest of the initial 7 Daizenshyuu, it certainly doesn't contain the least. The book begins with a nice foldout of character design sketches which Toriyama went through before he decided on the final designs for certain characters. Following that is a colorful guide to the many sections of the Dragonball universe, from the Heavens right down to Earth. Next you'll find information on the Dragonballs themselves and the two dragons used to summon them, Porunga and Shenron. After this is a list of "Racial Groups" including Saiyajin, Namekkuseijin, Monsters, and Humans contianing nice background info on the specific groups. Taking up roughly the middle of the book is the "World View", which is maps of the heavens as well as the Dragonball earth each with detailed descriptions of each spot and its significance. For a break in the flow of information, the next section is a colored recreation of the Dr. Slump/Dragonball crossover chapter of the Dragonball manga. Back into the info, the next section is "Grapple" which details the fighting styles used in Dragonball as well as summaries of the Tenkaichi Budoukai. Finishing off the "World Guide" is an illustrated list of all the machines and items used in the Dragonball series. The last few pages are, as always, devoted to an interview with Akira Toriyama himself.
