Summary: Earl's day-to-day observations keep readers pluggin' along.
Review: I met Wally Badgett, aka M.C. Tin Star, during a Cowboy Cartoonists International Rendezvous at Western Pleasure Guest Ranch in Sandpoint, Idaho, where he even won a prize sponsored by the Western Horseman Magazine. It was hard NOT to meet Wally as he was ambling around the lodge in his long underwear, beat-up cowboy hat, boots and jinglin' spurs. He told me he'd slept in the tipi with two dogs he didn't know. Kinda scary at first, but once I sat down and chewed the fat with Wally, I found he was one of the nicest guys I'd met in a long time. His character Earl may be just like Wally---pure sincerity, untarnished by big city ways and rock solid good soul. A collection of Earl books now sits on our coffee table when it's not on the kitchen counter where my hubby reads Earl's trials and tribulations while enjoying his breakfast. Earl gets in a fix or two. Readers come to expect that, just as folks on the farms and ranches know that Murphy's Law will visit at least once or twice on the best of days. Give Earl a whirl. I think you'll like Earl and want to meet his creator, a mighty nice guy.

Summary: True country/cowboy humor reflected in Earl books
Review: The cartoons found between the covers of the Books of Earl reflect real situations experienced by those who homesteaded the vast Montana prairies, and the progeny who continue to work that rugged land. The humorous situations depicted on these pages will stimulate many a conversation of "Remember when......" for the true country folk who enjoy Badgett's renderings. A must read for those with links to the rugged western lifestyle!
